I’m new to MFP.

Hello,
I’ve been using MFP for about a month and today I decided to “go Premium” and subscribed. My new year started Dec 16th, when I received a new devise (I’m in a clinical trial) in my back instead of having to undergo a laminectomy and fusion. I’ve suffered with Spinal Stenocisis for about 2 years and the last 6 months have been horrid. I couldn’t do anything but go to work and sit and then go home and sit. Gained a bunch of weight. Was already over weight before. But I’ve been given a second chance, I’ve been given “The reason”. I’m ready. All I’ve been allowed to do (per dr instruction) is walk. And walking I’ve done. I’ve lost 10 lbs since the day I left for the hospital. I’ve been logging food, listening to podcasts, meditating, reading, and walking. My biggest struggle I’m going to face is when I go back to work in 2 months. My job is not a typical job. I have no schedule (I work days and night shifts) and I’m gone away from home for 1 or 2 days at a time. And then maybe I’ll only be home for 12 hours then gone again. I just never know. But I’m making a plan for when that day comes. I know I’ll need a lot of support. I’m looking for some extra here. thanks for listening.

As a fellow Spinal Stenosis sufferer, you have my support. Years ago I lost a lot of weight but since my back issues started I have gained most of that back. But this is a new year and a chance to make that right! Have you discussed the possibility of some form of water workouts with your doctor?
Personally I plan on putting any back surgery off as long as (safely) possible. Every year is another year in surgical advancements.0
