Hi all,

I am fairly new here, but I am having a problem. I was doing great, and I initially lost 10 pounds with MFP! Now it seems like I am struggling. I have too many calories left at the end of the day but not enough protein or carbs. Today, I have tons of calories (I am trying to eat all of my exercise calories) and like 20 fat left. I just can't seem to find the right balance! Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks!

How about planning meals a day ahead of time or a week at a time?

most people I've seen post on here have not been too worried about going over on protein. As long as you're not hugely exceeding your levels, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I know i'm constantly over on protein. If you're having trouble meeting your calorie goals, could add some olive oil, nuts or nut butters (good fats!) to your intake (in moderation, of course!)

How about adjusting your protein goals yourself instead of relying on what MFP says? According to something I read either on here or on MiniMins you should be eating 1g protein for each lb of your goal weight. So if your goal weight is 150lbs you should be eating 150g per day protein. If you go to My home on the MFP page and then goals, I think, you can adjust the settings manually.
I'll just go and check that.
Yes go to goals, click on change goals and then you can alter away to your hearts content. You'll get a warning about how they can't guarantee it'll work if you veer from their settings, but it's still working for me Lol!

I'm running into the same problem myself. I'm also getting tired of eating the same things. What has really, really helped me is planning meals ahead of time, sometimes it's time consuming and gives you a headache lol... but it will keep you on track and you can play around with foods to meet your daily goals. For instance just as an exampled Friday I usually go the bar with friends so I limit myself to four beers and calculate how much exercise I need that day, I do this a week ahead of time. I know life can't always be planned of course... but this has helped me stay on point. If you are trying to add extra calories you can add in some high fat and calorie nutrients that are also good for you. Such as nuts, olive oil, peanut butter, and some types of cheeses.
