I teach high school English. This coming week at school will be dedicated to the American Heart Association and raising money for it. Well, because my mom died of a heart attack (age 47), my dad has had multiple smaller heart attacks and a quadruple bipass, and I have lost over 100 pounds being motivated by their health, I get to do a 10-15 minute presentation to the entire HS student body next Thursday telling about my experiences and losses. I am pretty excited about it!

So sorry to read about your mum ((hugs)) but she'd be proud of you for making the change you needed and am sure she'll be with you when you do your talk!
Sounds very exciting - though I'd be consumed by nerves talking in front of so many for sure!
  • That's awesome!!! You will be a great example to others. Everyone needs to start young and keep being healthy throughout their lives.
