Anyone ever have a torn or strained oblique muscle

Pretty sure I have one. I don't really doing anything physically which should cause this, but I read it doesn't have to be as a result of strenuous physical activity.
Any way, about a week ago I noticed a very sharp pain in my right oblique area. It started to get a little bit better on Saturday but on Sunday I had to lift a bunch of heavy stuff and it's worse than ever. The pain is there all of the time, but is excruciating when I first wake up and when I cough or sneeze.
Might go to the doctor to confirm but it sounds like this is what it is and that it could be weeks before it gets better. Hopefully I can continue to walk daily for exercise which doesn't bother it too much.

If you can see a sports physio, they are better placed to work out exactly which muscle it is (general doctors are great but not always specialists in musculature). The physio will then be able to work out how much damage you’ve done / whether it’s just overuse and give you a rest and stretching plan to get you sorted.
I’ve damaged various ab muscles after surgery left me with a weakness there and I have an ongoing QL issue. It will take time to get back to normal but it can definitely be done - you just don’t want to set yourself back. Good luck!1 -

Those are all symptoms of appendicitis too. If you get other symptoms, like a fever or nausea, go to the ER.1 -
I pulled an oblique muscle once. Mannnnn it hurts! It was over ten years ago though, and I had a team of athletic trainers to fix me so I can't remember what helped. Hope you feel better soon.1

I thought it sounded like pleurisy, inflammation of the pleura. Knife stabbing pain the day after moving around a lot or with cough/sneeze. That would typically be more central chest area vs. side pain.0 -
Happened to me once. Went to a Physio. From what I remember she kind of gently massaged it out and I believe there may have been a heating pad involved too. Took multiple visits. Good luck with your healing!1
