How many calories do you get a day?

I'm 5'4" and I weigh 158 pounds. MFP set my daily calorie goal at 1620. I work out 3-5x a week.

I`m currently set to loose 1pound a week and am set at sedentary ( I work online so I sit most of the day )
1440 ( plus I try to eat as much of my exercise cals as possible)
normaly burn 600-1000 cals a day in exercise0 -
that sounds right you are very active I am 5'4 149 and i get 1270 since i am not very acttive0

thanks, it just seems kind of high to me. I'm also a waitress, so I'm on my feet for at least 5 hours a day at my job.0

I am 5'4" and 138.6lbs
Mines is 1350, I set my thing as if I'm lightly active. When I exercise I end up eating about half of those calories back if not most of them, so far I've been losing.0 -

you have to just try it out... MFP doesn't know everything! Each specific person's metabolism is different... MFP just makes a generalization0

Im 5ft6, currently weigh 193.2lbs, and my goal is 1300 a day
i workout most days, i do zumba for wii which burns over 600cals, but i dont eat my excercise cals back. Whats the point burning cals and just stuffing your face again?! Well anyway that works for me i loose the odd lb every week or 2.

mrsdperkins - it could have something to do with that. I have mine on active (I think) for being on my feet a majority of the day as a waitress... but I'm wondering if I should change it to sedentary. I have no idea.0

I'm 5'1 and 130 lbs and only get 1200 calories a day, which is the absolute minimum. (I sit at a computer all day at my job.) I'm trying to exercise at least 5 days a week.0

1200. I'm 5'6" and 144 lbs. I workout 3-5 times a week burning like 250-400 calories each time. I don't usually eat back my workout calories. Oh, and I'm sedentary, too.0

mine is 1200, I'm 5'6 143lbs... mine is also set to sedentary. I work out about once or twice a week and I (usually) do not eat my calories burned. I've lost 20+lbs this way.0

I`m 6'4'' and currently at 281lbs, mine is set at 2150 cals, and I don't eat back my excercise calories, this is working for me as I have lost 42lbs in 9 weeks, I am also building muscle keeping my protien intake high.0
