It seems like the scale is not really moving and neither are the inches. I started here weighing 185 lbs gained 2 additional pounds and then around the end of July I got serious and started eating right and exercising. I lost about 6.8 pounds in August. I've read different post where others have lost up to 20 lbs in this same time span. HELP!!!!!!!
I currently have a HRM and am keeping very close tabs on what I eat as in staying within my allotted calories.
I'm open for any suggestions on how to speed this process up. Is there anyone else out there that started off slow but eventually started seeing a loss, if so did you do anything different or did time just take it's toll.
TXS in advance.

I'm sure it's not what you want to hear but slow and steady is better long term. Most of the people who are loosing that much in one month had a substantial amount to loose.0

How much do you know about the people that lost 20 pounds in that time span? Did they have a gastric bypass? Lapband? Are they over a certain weight? There is a certain weight where it is ok to lose that much in a month... I don't think your weight falls in that category. I am not certain what the number is - but I am pretty sure it has to be higher than your current!
At your weight - eating right and being healthy - it is best to lose 2 pounds or less per week. (Trainers and nutritionists - please give your two cents here.)
Did you read what you typed? You lost 6 pounds last month!!! That is wonderful!! Keep it up my friend! I have been so impressed by your drive!!0 -
I would say you are doing great. 6.8 lbs in a month is more than the standard 1lb/week. Losing 20 lbs in a month isn't healthy. Also, I would guess that most people who lose 20 lbs in a month probably have much more excess weight than you. I didn't look at your profile but in your photo you don't look like you have tons to lose. I know it is easy to get discouraged and want instant results, but be glad that you are eating right and doing it the healthy and sustainable way. It will get there if you stay consistent.0

Don't give up!! I was losing weight on the scale, but I was still wearing the same clothes--they fit a little looser, but not much. Then just about 3 weeks ago (I started in March) EVERYTHING shifted--now I'm 3 sizes smaller & feel great. It's sounds like your on the right track--make sure you are eating at least 1200 net calories & I shake things up by eating back all of my exercise calories 1-2 times a week. Good luck!

Unfortunately there's no quick way to lose weight. You didn't gained that much weight overnight so you won't going to lose it overnight either. Take it slowly. Another thing being fit is not only limited to losing weight, it involves a complete shift to a healthier life. If you're not losing anything, think of the other benefits you gained on exercising & eating right. Losing weight should only come as a bonus.
Don't compare yourself with someone else weight loss. We all built differently & not everyone of us is gifted with high metabolic genes. Some lose weight fast & some have to make double effort to lose but one thing is for sure, that we can all lose weight.0 -
Don't give up girl! You're such a badass, I love reading what workouts you did every day!
Think about this - a family friend of mine is a plastic surgeon and says you don't want to lose more than 1-2 pounds a week or your skin will still sag. Good reason to take it slow!0 -
I would say at your current weight a 20 pound weight loss in one month is completely unhealthy and you would do yourself more harm than good with it. A 6.8 pound loss in a month sounds fantastic and like you know what you're doing and what works for your body. Keep it up.
And remember, the weight didn't go on overnight, so it won't go off overnight either.0 -
Don't give up.. Slow and steady is good.. I started this journey early June and I've lost 11 pounds.. Everyone looses weight at different speed... Don't get discouraged you can do this... We all can!!0
