Your work
What kinds of jobs have you had in your lifetime; what work do you do now; do you like what you do or have done?
I never went to college. Most of my jobs have been minimum wage type jobs. I started out working in a glove factory, then went to the hospital kitchen and learned pretty much every job there from pot scrubber to baker to cafeteria to cook, went to an electrical parts factory(ugh, hate factory work), chambermaid, retail, but my longest running job was 39 years of operating an in-home childcare. I finally found my niche, where I was happy, plus it was nice being my own boss as opposed to working for someone else. Retired last May and am grateful for that as well.
So, if you'd like to, please share your work experiences.

- Cat brusher at an animal shelter
- Le sandwich artiste
- Illustrator (current official title, although I work for myself)

1st job was when I was 16. I washed and waxed private planes with a friend, in our bikinis. Never acts loss for customers.
I've also worked at a lumberyard, driving a forklift, waitress, then found my calling in hospitality working on hotels. Retired after selling my small mountainside hotel with fine dining restaurant. I have been blessed in that area if my life, but have always been a hard worker.2 -

I've had three sales jobs in my lifetime, including stints at supervisory or management level
1982 to 1987
1987 to 2011
2011 to 2020 and counting
No, I do not like sales. Not a people person. Just can't seem to get out of sales. Probably too old to learn anything new now.1 -

I have hated every last one of them but I'd go back to hair if my liscence wasn't expired; for the money. I'm more mature now to care about being a pharmacy Technician and actually learn something. I'll never be a cashier again. I'll never be unemployed for a lengthy time again. Try to figure out how to get out of retail and into a job where I don't just wish the hours of my life away.1 -

I'd love to be a furniture tester. Lol Or a bakery taster.
My dream job was always to open a combination book and toy store but a few people have tried that idea locally and it hasn't been all that successful. Too many stores and businesses end up flops locally; we simply don't have the amount of clientele it takes to keep a business surviving for long.
There have been some very interesting jobs mentioned so far!! Thank you for all the sharing.1
