Reality

I turned 50 years old at the end of last year, with that being said I feel like the check engine light came on all of the sudden. January was a rough month when I was diagnosed with arthritis in my back and neck as well as my L2-S1 being displaced.

I used the phrase all of the sudden early, when actually reality slapped me in the face fast and hard when I came to the realization it had been compounding over the last decade. I went through a traumatic incident with my daughter, leading to a two year long safety fearing and bitter divorce, which in turn lead to stress, anxiety and depression (SAD). We all know what SAD leads to .... WEIGHT GAIN!
Weight gain that spiralled out of control to an unhealthy 80 pounds of SAD, back, knee and digestive problems.

With all that being said. Two and a half years ago I married a wonderful man who loves me just the way I am with all my flaws and baggage.

Now, TODAY, I am starting my journey to become a healthier, happier, and more positive me. Any contrutive criticism, advice or words of encouragement are greatly appreciated.

Hi there! I am pretty much in a similar situation, about 80 lbs more than I should be and 50 is right around the corner. Metabolism / snail pace. All I can say is focus on the positive. Everyday is a chance to be better, eat better, walk a little longer... As nice as we want people to be to us, we should be to ourselves.
