Hi! I just wanted to share with you information. I have been looking into becoming at least vegetarian for a long time, But sport is a part of my job and when I tried to cut out meat and poultry from my diet, I felt tired more quickly.
I'm still not a vegetarian. I eat chicken couple times a month and fish about once a week. But I have found an amazing book written by Brendan Breizer. He is a professional athlete and worked out a great nutrition guide

"Thrive: The Vegan Nutrition Guide to Optimal Performance in Sports and Life "

There are a lot of easy to make recipes of delicious energy bars, smoothies, soups ect.
The whole idea in the book is to nurish your body, feed it easy to digest foods, so you do not have to waste energy on digesting.
So far I have been using a lot of recipes from this book. If anyone is interested, I can share my favourite ones.

You might have not upped your carbs enough, or it could be psychological..
  • That would be great. Thanks!

I've been reading his work too! Just finished Thrive Fitness and got Thrive foods. I'm not a professional at all, of course, but he has great recipes for fueling every athlete. He also has a great line of products for days I don't have time to make stuff (the Vega foods). Hope you keep sharing how it all works for you! :)
  • So far I have been making energy bars and pancakes which is very easy and does not take much time. Energy bars save my life when I have to work till 7 pm and work out afterwards. I do not eat passed 6 pm and after I'm done working out, it is waaay too late to eat for me. So, I eat a couple of energy bars at work around 6 pm and I'm full of energy without being stuffed:flowerforyou:

Scott Jurek is an amazing ultra runner and is a Vegan. I think Dave Scott, the Ironman legend, is too if I'm not mistaken.
