Weekends Suck

My weigh-in day used to be Monday...but I'm changing it to Wednesday. I did okay this weekend, but not nearly as good as I do throughout the week. I didn't workout - and to be honest, I never do. Every weekend, I tell myself that I'm going to get to the gym, but I don't. And though I did pretty well with my food...I didn't do as well as I do on the weekdays. I think a big part of my problem is that most of the 48 hours of my weekends are spent alone now.

Take this weekend - yesterday, I had dinner at friend's house, but I didn't leave until 5pm. Until then...I was alone. We made a healthy dinner, and I did well until I started munching on chips during a movie. :ohwell:

Today, I had church. Then I met another friend for lunch. I had planned to do well, but the food was so good, and I ate way too much. Then, I was alone again for dinner - and I did okay with dinner.

So all in all, I did okay. But I need some motivation to do better on the weekends. I don't mind taking them as my days off...unless I eat a lunch like today. Then I should really get to the gym to help work it off. But I end up alone with no motivation to do much of anything.

Any ideas?

can you get a puppy? the shelter has too many puppys that need us and they change your life..you can go for walks...

or on the weekends you can walk other peoples dogs and make money!!!!

I know what you mean, weekends are my downfall too and i always weighed 2 lbs more on Monday's. THat is exactly why i changed my weigh in day to Monday. It makes me work all that much harder on the weekends to make sure i have a good weigh in on Monday. It holds me accountable on the weekends and makes me work hard for that weigh in.

I now take Friday's off from the gym and it is also my cheat night, so i can work it off on Saturday and Sunday before the weigh in.

Good luck, we all have bad days, but it is getting back on the good that keeps us going in the right direction.

You are ALONE too much! Don't make food your friend. Get out of the house, I know winter stinks. So go window shopping, go to the gym, or just do some heavy cleaning at your house. You have to keep yourself motivated, and moving, or it will just keep getting harder to get to the gym!

    Good Luck!

I think weekends are hard for many...they are for me! I say enjoy it!! If you work hard all week long why not have 2 days where you can live a little more freely. Dont go overboard, but enjoy!! Maybe you'll even work harder during the week for it!!!

Each weekend pick a project, like clean out the closet, vacuum under the couches, dust the wall of pictures. Ive noticed with myself if I set a goal to get the one small thing done I end up getting other things done. Kinda like playing a trick on your procrastination part of your brain! ohhh..... its just one small chore then while you are up its like, i can get this, and this, and this, done then one thing kinda falls into place.

Weekends do suck! I'm guilty of that "but it's the weekend" mentality. I actually have the opposite problem though. I'm really good when I'm by myself, but weekends for me usually include meals with friends and family. I'm sad to say that no one in my life right now is eating like I do, a low fat, mainly vegetarian diet. I feel as though I have to have like steel enforced self control around the people I love to spend time with. I don't work out on the weekends either, they're my 2 rest days for the week. I guess it's ok to cut loose a little, but it's hard to stay in control when you're around alcohol, pizza, meeting up at Buffalo Wild Wings....gaahhhh :noway: It's all about baby steps though. I was better this weekend then I have been in the past. Next weekend, maybe it'll be a little bit better for the both of us.

I am usually good about keeping myself busy but today I was over on everything only the carbs survived below the limit and my folly today was simple I bought a box of fudgsicles for the kids thinking I won't touch them:laugh: I unfortunally ate 3 oops darn sundays:grumble:

My weigh in day is friday for that very reason...I am always good during the week. This way if I slip a little on the weekend I have M,T, W and Th to fix the damage!

These are all great ideas - I'm actually thinking of volunteering somewhere now!

I must have done better than I thought over the weekend though. I didn't weigh myself yesterday, but today, I'd lost 2 pounds since last week!
