Hurrah for good breakfasts

Up to now, Ive been drinking 2 coffee half and half's with skim milk, and letting that be my breakfast. I'm not usually that hungry in the morning anyways. Yesterday, I had a bowl of red river cereal with a tablespoon of raisins, 3 tablespoons of 0% fat Greek yoghurt, and a peach. I felt stuffed to the gills all day long, was not famished just before lunch and supper like I usually am. I didn't feel hungry all day!
This morning, I'm doing the same, but with a banana instead of a peach. It all comes to 489 calories. But it makes keeping to quota (1200 cals + exercise cals) the rest of the day SO MUCH easier.
I think I'll make it a habit!

That's awesome! Breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day, even if you are not hungry for it. I know personally... as a college student (eating a bowl of cereal, toast or oatmeal), I can't make 400 cals for breakfast... but I believe that is the perfect number!
Keep up the good work!0 -
I agree, and while sometimes girly coffees do still serve as my breakfast, i have found in the last month since i made breakfast a habit i have felt so much better and have made easier/better eating decisions.0

I wouldn't be able to start my day without breakfast - I usually have coffee with skim milk, a little o j, and either homemade granola, oatmeal, or a healthy cereal. A fruit smoothie with fruit, milk, peanut butter, banana, etc also keeps me full.0

This reminds me of the old saying
"Breakfast like a king, lunch like a queen, dinner like a pauper" :laugh:0 -
Yep! Breakfast makes a big difference in how the day goes. It's the perfect time of day to feed your body really good food.0

If you're talking about "kickstarting your metabolism", that's totally false. All breakfast does is makes it more likely you wont overeat later on on snacks. If you don't overeat on snacks, then there's no need for breakfast.0 -
I am not naturally a breakfast eater, but I've found if I have a breakfast between 250-300 calories, I'm just better off by mid-day and much less likely to gorge myself at lunch.
My typical breakfast is 2 glasses of water, decaf+skim+stevia, and then either oatmeal+flax+fruit+tbspYogurt; or egg+veggie+Drytoast0 -
Very nice! Big breakfasts are great and allow you to eat smaller meals the rest of the day, which is awesome! I love yogurt with mix-ins, especially unsweetened shredded coconut, yum!0

I make my breakfast my biggest meal of the day. I usually have a serving of oatmeal with fruits mixed in (bananas, strawberries, blueberries etc.) I also add a tbsp of peanut butter to give it some extra flavor. Sometimes I add a boiled egg  It ends up being a 500 calorie breakfast, which isn't a bad thing since it keeps me full up until lunch. I notice I tend to eat smaller meals as the day goes along. It works for me.0
