Good Evening Ladies!!!
I apologize for this coming so late. It's been BUSY in my world, as I'm sure it has been busy in yours. September is FAST approaching and I am honored to be the captain for this wonderful group!
What is this group about?
We are about pushing ourselves past our known limits - but not so far we are injured!!!
We are here to be a positive support system for each other.
We are here to meet new and incredible people that we can do our journeys with!
I, personally, will be here to encourage each of you to the best of my ability every day. Frankly, I am thankful that Gary took the teams from 20 people to 10. This will provide me the opportunity to give each of you more individual time.
Since we have all introduced ourselves - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/319628-walk-this-weigh-september-challenge-closed-group?hl=Walk+this+weigh#posts-4261313 - We know the basics!! This is a good starting point for all of us (and a good way to refresh ourselves if we have forgotten <guilty>).
There are two different courses of exercise this month. The first one is called Pygmy Series. This series is designed for lower impact. The second series is called Bush(wo)men! The Bush(wo)man Series is for the more advanced. I will encourage you, if you are going for the more beginning series to at least ATTEMPT some of the Bush(wo)man Series exercises. Push yourself and overcome what you *think* you can do. Don't just stop at what you know you can do!
Each week, aside from the daily challenges (of which there are 6 days and 1 day of rest - which happens on Sundays), there are also TEAM challenges. These challenges seem HUGE, but with everyone chipping in, they are amazingly easy!
REPORTING: You can report to me via message on MFP on a daily or weekly basis (or whatever works best for you), but I NEED everyone to report BY Sunday morning so I can work on getting everything together and in to Gary by Sunday afternoon/early evening.
I will respond to this post with how the point system is to work out, but I think I have filled you with a lot of information as it is!! Below you will find the first week's challenges (along with the team challenges) that are starting on Thursday!! One more day to rest up before this starts!!
SEPTEMBER CHALLENGES - WEEK 1 - PYGMY SERIES
This should be done in addition to your normal workout routine. This is a challenge and is not a replacement!

For those that want to do before and after pictures, please send me your before's!!! I also need everyone's starting weight and your weight loss goal for this month!!
Though I don't see a whole lot of change, here are my before and after August pictures:
I'm going to take fresh ones tomorrow and NOT in black. It's so difficult to tell anything in black.0 -
Woohoo!!! Tomorrows the day!! I almost thought today was September 1st I was so excited haha I'm going to try out some of the workouts in the BUSHMEN series today so I can get a feel for them. I might have to drop down to the Pygmy, but that's ok
I'll do a fresh weigh-in (hopefully the remaining sodium gain disappears by then...4 "pounds" disappeared last night...Darn sodium) and pictures tomorrow >.< And send them your way tomorrow!
In addition, Brandy, you can definitely see a difference. Especially in your forward facing picture. Looks how nice your curve line is!!! (Quad areas) You're going create work, Captain!! ;D0 -
can't wait to start! I'm excited to be able to do this with everyone.0

I would LOVE to have a massage therapist that I could see more than once every six months!! I'm SERIOUSLY considering getting a massage soon...I need an hour of ME time and I LOVE my regular therapist!0 -
I will turn 47 in September and celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary, too.
My goal is to get all fired up because I've had a month now to get used to the eating/tracking/drinking water/start moving again. Now, I've got 12 months to meet my weight goal...
I am SO STOKED to start this challenge!!!
Thanks, Brandy, for the encouragement to join!0 -

I completed the Pygmy Series, but also most of the Busman Series as well.
50 Squat kicks
50 Jumping Jacks
50 Crunches
50 Wood Chops

Hi everyone
I am doing Day 1 and 2 tomorrow as its my OH's birthday today and we went out for dinner.... no globe jumps for me on a full belly. I have been naughty lately and really want to get back on track. Encouragement please to stop me from giving into those delicious treats!
Hope you all had a great day.

Oh, my! It's taken me 10 minutes to be able to breathe again after just 5 minutes of exercising. That can't be good. Right?
I am going to keep plugging away at it, though. I'm not giving up. I'm hoping by Oct. 1 that I'll be able to recover in 1/2 the time it takes me to get through the exercises! lol
Yep,'I only did the Pygmy today -- and thought I would DIE. Another goal for the rest of the month -- try to add at least one Bushwoman exercise each day for the last week.
Oh, I'm full of goals!
Thanks for letting me hang out with you gals. I'm not going to let you down!
Peace,
Loree0 -

Hey Loree
Well done for yesterday! It will get easier you will see. Just keep plugging away!! :flowerforyou:
I gotta do 2 days of challenges in 1 today! eeek!0 -
Loree,
It will get easier. You will notice as time goes on that you can do more and more at once. Just keep at it. Break them up into sets if you have to. Break the sets up during the day if you have to. Stop, take a break, drink some water. You will do awesome and feel so much stronger by the end of the month!
Happy Friday to you and all of my fabulous team members!

You can TOTALLY do this! I understand getting distracted, but find some time to sit quietly and reassess what you are here for and why you want to do this. That usually helps me put things into perspective. The world will always get in the way of something you want badly enough. You have to fight back and not let it win!0 -

Loree,
I love your attitude and spirit! When you first start exercising, it feels like it takes FOREVER to recover, however it does get better. The more fit you are, the less recovery time your body needs. I think you are doing an amazing job. I totally look up to you. I know it's not easy coming from where you are to where you want to be (it is certainly not easy from where I am to where I want to be!). I have seen you from your beginning to current and I am so glad to say that watching you go from 10-15 minute walks in a day to 90 minute walks in a day is AWESOME!!!
Thank you for letting us be there with you on your journey! And thank you even more for being here on mine!

Great job! You can do the bear walk anytime between now and Sunday, so you still have a few days to go! I'll be doing mine after I see the doctor tonight. I'm going to talk to him about the sinus infection as well as the knee. The swelling is not getting any better.0 -
