anyone have sucess on a wheat free diet?

I have recently read about wheat free diets and the weight loss that comes with them. I was just curious if anyone has had sucess on a wheat free diet?

  • I've been doing a wheat/dairy/sugar free diet for the last 10 days. So I can't speak to just the wheat free but the way I am eating seems to be working for me. I did it to find out if I have a sensitivity to those foods that is keeping me from loosing weight.

    Next week I am adding back in some foods to see how my body reacts. I have lost 5 lbs in the past 10 days and so I want to see if it comes back right away or not.

    Cutting out wheat or gluten may give you an initial loss if you are allergic & therefore bloated or clogged up, but you will gain weight by eating brown or white rice bread & pasta over your carb/calorie limit. Unfortunately it's very high on the glycemic index :(

    The big losses may be due to a lower carb intake and not so much cutting out wheat or gluten per say. Even if you don't lose weight more rapidly you will feel better by cutting out wheat if you are allergic to it, of course.
