I'm in! I'm glad someone else drank as much soda as i used to! I cut back drastically this bast week and have been making iced tea (2 bucks for 100 bags...can't beat that) but i eventually want to stop drinking it all together so i will go in with you!0

Alrighty - the countdown is underway! Tomorrow starts a month of no soda! I've been mentally preparing myself and I've purchased some crystal light to make at home and brought some 4c half and half lemonade/iced tea 0 calorie(!) packets to work.
How are you guys preparing? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts!0 -
My friend posted this yesterday and it says it well and ties into what your trying to do and proud that you are....it is empty calories and poison to your body besides the added cost. If your going to drink something then make sure it is a superhealth drink that feeds your body with mega nutrients.
She wrote this: I'm sorry if this sounds callous, but if you are on a "diet" and still drinking "diet" soda, I have two words for you ..WAKE UP!!
Best of luck to you on your Sept. challenge and anyone that would like to friend me for some positive food for thought and health tips is welcome too Colleen0 -
I think the last time I went a month or more without soda was when I was in bootcamp; many years ago!
As far as preparing (takes sip of his diet soda) I am going to try the crystal light thing. I still need to determine what else I can drink that will also be lower in calories.
Hopefully more people will post up because I need some ideas!0 -
I'm totally in! I drink at least 2 20 oz diet pepsi a day! At work they are only $1.30, but that adds up quickly. I've already given up buying coffee, but sometimes I grab one from the front office (free), and I quit drinking and smoking, so this is my last vice! AND IT HAS ME GRIPPED!!!!!!!0

Count me in. I usually get 32oz diet sodas from the gas station...usually 5-10 per week! I don't drink coffee or tea, so it will just be water or Crystal Light from now on.0

Terrific idea, Emily. I'm in! I'm not a big soda drinker but I do consume it sometimes. The more I read about diet sodas and their adverse health impacts, the more I want to just eliminate it from my diet altogether.
See what you started?? :-) Many thanks.0 -
I am soda free all year long! I didn't enjoy giving up my soda, but my doctor had me do it years ago. If it doesn't' help my goal, it hurts my goal. Water might be boring but it is best for me! Cheaper, too! Okay, I have maybe 3 - 4 a year!0

Day One peoples! I just got to work and have my water, my morning coffee, and crystal light to go packs to get me through the day!
Good luck to everyone today!0 -
I'm in. I went soda free in July, had a few in August, but I'm ready to drop soda (and iced tea) for September!0
-
okay I am drinking my unsweetened ice tea, but I won't lie and tell you that I don't miss my diet coke, it took a lot of determination this morning to order this tea and not diet coke. Soda free for 12 hours so far!!!!!0
-
I'm in!!! I love me some Coke, not diet Coke but regular Coke!:embarassed: I drankmy last one this morning, since it was the last 20oz bottle I had at the house. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this....0

So far, so good for me as well. Was tough at lunch time to not order soda as that is usually when I have my first soda of the day. Tea sweetened with Splenda is actually pretty tasty though! Just day 1 of a long journey, but looking forward to conquering this challenge!0

Day 1 and it was a tough morning. I was up late last night and my first instinct would be to grab an energy drink and then a diet Dr pepper for later. I came to work and had a coffee instead. on my 3rd cup of water. Good luck everyone.0

Sounds good - I don't drink soda to often but it's time I stop completely.0
-
I cannot say I will be 100% not drinking any but I will be in for the overwhelming majority. I dont want to "not be allowed" but I havent had one in almost 2 weeks... SCORE!0

I have been off about 2 weeks... and I stayed up half the night.... I had a soda in my hand this morning, but I put it back, for yall! I made me a black (with sweet n low) coffee and I am set... I needed a caffeine fix... but a soda addict shouldnt have soda!
Thanks guys!!0 -
Count me in...not only will I promise no Soda for September, but I will add, black teas as well. Time to get off the caffeine cycle.....Starbucks makes great green teas iced or hot!0

Day one of my no soda challenge complete, however it was almost delayed. In Canada we get cranberry gingerale usually every fall until Christmas and than it's gone. Last yr we didn't get it at all (or at least I couldn't find it) and what do I find when I get to safeway last night? my beloved cranberry gingerale. urgh. I didn't buy any though so that was a small victory.0

Congrats to everyone who had a successful Day One! I made it through without too much trouble only because my workday was super busy and I didn't have time to think about how much I was craving a soda. Still on track for today - so far so good!
Here's to a great Day Two people!0 -
Made it another day! Yeah! 2 days down, 29+ to go.0
-
I'm so in, I usually drink a can a day... (diet pepsi or coke zero). I haven't had one in 2 days though, so far so good.0
-
i haven't had soda for almost a week now! I have been drinking tea, and had a powerade zero today, but mostly just tea tea tea water and some more tea0
-
Ooooh, I should join this, for sure! [:0
-
Day 3 and the start of the holiday weekend! I feel like I've been drinking TONS of water to replace my usual soda intake!
Good luck to everyone over the weekend and keep up the good work!0 -
Day 3 over! I think this officially the logest I've gone without soda in the last 15 years. That's pretty bad!0
-
Day 5 and still holding up! I must admit that I did want one today (mostly because my wife was drinking one) but resisted the urge.
Hope you all are doing good!0
