Does anybody else have this??? PG13 Rated

Here's my theory, I have this thing going on and I wondered 1. If anyone else had it, 2. If anybody else knows what causes it, and 3 how to make it go away.
Some people I believe you can tell used to be really skinny, and just fluffed up a little they (and this is only my uneducated opinion) still have that skinny person silllouette, but a round belly.
Then there are people who have been bigger most of thier life, because the fluff hangs on them a little differently, they tend to have an hour glass shape, with a bigger bottom half usually.....
Me, I have an hour glass shape, but it seriously looks like somebody took a rope and tied it around me AT my bellybutton and pulled on the ends for years upon years. Around my ribs and and my belly button I could probably wear a size 10 but everything below that OMG, gross size 18 covers it, that's all I'll say :blushing: . I want to say it's because I've always worn my jeans (way too tight for starters) right at my belly button. Most people I guess have worn them lower? So there is this Pooch between my crotch and bellybutton that drives me nuts. Is there anything I can do to reverse this?
I know cardio and lots of it will help reduce all over, as well as building my muscle thru strength training.... but will I always be doomed with this shape and pooch, or am I stupid for thinking it's because that's where I wear my jeans/pants?
Any thoughts are appreciated. Or suggestions of clothing that would work.

Proper diet, strength training, cardio, and time.
Or stop wearing pants.0 -

Your shape sounds just like mine. We can't fight genetics. All we can do is lean up. Lose enough body fat and it will have to leave those larger areas sooner or later.
Weight training really helps reshape your body!0 -
Yepp I know what you're talking about lol. I unfortunately have no idea other than just losing that weight in general or maybe try some reverse crunches.0

LOL@ stop wearing pants!
I think a lot of weight loss and cardio, etc will help. Also, if you'd had children, its a good idea to retrain and strengthen your obliques. Those muscles get so stretched and weak from pregnancy expansion, in my experience. That will atleast take the lower belly pudge and pull it inward until/while it shrinks.0 -
when my cousin lost weight hers went awa completly! maybe yours will too! It really depends on your body, everyone loses differently!0

I always felt like my waist was ridiculously small compared to the rest of me... And unfortunately it just got worse as I lost weight... I lost weight from my waist first, then boobs, then thighs, and then the love handles and butt are extraordinarily stubborn. I used to think it made me look heavier than I actually was, because my hips were so huge in comparison to my little waist... I haven't necessarily *embraced* my shape, but I am coming to terms with it... it's definitely popular amongst the guys!!!
It's still a little frustrating though. Like I'm almost done with P90X - When I started I had a 29 inch waist, and 40 inch hips... I now have a 26 inch waist, and 39 inch hips... GRRRR. My waist was fine. LOL.0 -
I swear how I've worn my clothes over the years has affected my body! lol My friend has permanent indentions on her shoulders because of her bra straps (she has very big boobs :blushing:) But yeah.. Lot's of cardio, strength training, and healthy eating. Good luck!!0

Years of yo yo dieting brought you to this point. I have similar body problems, i have been 75lbs heavier than i am. When we gain weight it comes off on the top half first and then once we we are into the diet and exercise it starts coming off on the bottom. If you have been like me, started and stopped diets all your life you have a heavier lower half. When we stopped losing the weight and put it back on, it wants to first come back on the lower half.
So what you have to do this time is stick to it. If you stop when you are 1/4 the way to your goal you will only increase your size on the lower half.0 -
oh btw just losing weight will get rid of the pouch. it is just fat.0

Your not crazy, your like a lot of people. i'm not large but i have a belly and even though i don't wear pants to my belly button i do slouch. this has caused a line and a funny shape...atleast this is what i think. i'm no doctor by any means but my suggestion is like everyone else. proper diet and exercise, lots of water cut the sodas and extra sugars and have better posture ( maybe even find pants that arent so tight and uncomfortable). Best luck to you on your adventure!

once you loose the weight, and tighten up those muscles, it will HELP. might not get rid of the pooch all together. my sister in law had no pooch before having a baby. she carried a few extra pounds for a few years. then she got very fit. still had the bump. then she got very stressed, and was actually under weight. in her words "I have no boobs and no *kitten* at all, and I weigh 107 pounds (5'3") and look, I still have this." (as she grabbed her little tummy bulge). a flat belly would be nice, but it is not the be all and end all.0

If you watch Jillian Micheals 30 day shred you can learn a couple different abe exercises that will help. Sit ups will help get rid of your stomach but she does also these reverse sit ups where your feet are up in the air and you push your butt up, this will help with the pouch area. Any situps that call for your feet to go up instead of stay on the ground I've found to feel the strain in that area. As for clothes I'm not sure really bad at picking things out for myself. try watching those make over shows if you get them. Or try a web site created by Tyra Banks it talks about fashion and styles you should wear for different sizes. It's called typef.com.0

Have you thought about wearing pants that are lower? If I wear pants up to my belly button, my tummy sticks out more. If I wear them a bit lower (not totally low riders like a teen would wear) it hit right where my tummy starts to pooch out and I feel like it holds it in more lol Just a thought, not an answer to your question but it has helped me. Now that I'm getting closer to my goal weight, it is shrinking
