Knee pain

I have been running for a 5k for some while. But today my right knee started to hurt. What scares me is that i have had 3 knee surgerys in the past. Any ideas what I should do...

I would say rest, except you have already had previous issues with the knee. Make a doctor appointment, IMO.0

This is not an approach for everyone, but my brother and I both had knee and hip problems and switched to barefoot/minimalist style running. I've been knee pain free for the entire summer (after being shut down last year with illial tibial band syndrome). Again, it's not for everyone, and you have to take it REALLY slow at first, but it worked for me (I started the couch to 5k program all over again, even though I was able to run a 5k, just to get my feet, calves, and achilles tendon used to minimalist running)0
