HALLOWEEN COSTUME MOTIVATION

Okay...so I know maybe I get wayyy too excited about Halloween. To be honest, I have never actually dressed up and gone out for Halloween...as a little kid, there were no good places to Trick 'r Treat and when I was in high school, I worked. THIS YEAR THOUGH, I live in basically downtown San Diego and I've heard the people go allll out.

So, to cut back on the rambling and get to the point: I'm going to fit into my Halloween costume and work it...who's with me?

Me too! That's my motivation for the next two months! I have a plan for something skin tight and flesh-toned (Lady Godiva - I have super long curly hair, and I just need the "naked" effect), but I won't do it if I am not comfortable. So yoga, spin class, aerobics, elliptical machine can expect to see a lot of me in the next 8 weeks :)

    Good luck to you too!

I don't blame you. My wife and I recently got into shape and got invited to a Halloween Party. When I asked her about costumes, she said I could wear a gorilla suit and she could be a banana. I said "Heck, No! You've worked too hard! Cat or playboy bunny! There are no sexy bananas! lol

  • Glad I'm not the only weirdo! I promise you that my biggest motivation is being a slutty (black) rainbow brite in rainbow tights. I might not have the legs for it by this October, but next year y'all better watch out!

ChantalGG - I was a drag queen for halloween last year! Its soooo fun. You get to be as tacky and over-made up as you want to be and it ends up being just part of your sass. They have some videos on Youtube about how to cover your eyebrows so you can draw in fake ones... just remember to let the glue stick dry completely x.x

It's not really a part of my goals or anything but I do have a plan for halloween that my weight loss will definitely help with. I haven't decided on the full details yet but if all goes well, I'm going to be glad I lost the weight :)

I wish they had Like buttons on here. Beacause I like that you said this about your wife. lol.
As for the costumes we always do a big Halloween party for kids at my house and me and my husband dress up. The only adults who do but the kids think it's super, and that's who we are doing it for. The only problem is that I make the costumes. I'm still new at sewing and I've found clothes tend to be more complicated than quilts. I've always picked out these cute patterns to make but than for my size they call for so much material and no matter what it still doesn't look like it does on the size 3 model in the picture. But this year I'm playing on being almost 30-40 lbs smaller and that will make it so much easier and complicated. It's hard enough to make a costume than if I keep losing I will have to allter it and I've found that even harder. But it will be worth it. I'll just make mine last. lol. Plus than I get more practice and mine ends up looking better than the first one I make.

It will be my 2 year wedding anniversary this Halloween and I want to look awesome. I was not happy of how I looked on the day. So this year it will be different. Don't get me wrong the wedding was SO much fun and the costumes were great for the evening but I didn't feel sexy at all.

I too wanted to dress up as I am Wonder Woman, lol. So maybe this year will be the year reveal my super powers to the world.

My goal is 5 more lbs! I want to be either a denver broncos cheerleader (super tiny coverage), or take my husbands old suspenders, logging shirt (rolled up and tied under my chest), logging hard hat, my old cut off shorts, logging boots and cary my sons toy chainsaw around :)

I love talking sewing. lol. I did make a pretty awesome pirates coat the first year and this past year I made three muskateer costumes, except we only ended up having two but they were pretty good. I've never had luck with my costumes because I always make them last and than have to rush, so maybe I should make mine first. hmm. It's my husbands turn to pick this year and he wants to be ball players like the old fashion uniforms. Last year I did a medievil gown for me, but it didn't look exactly right but maybe I can adjust it since i've lost weight and cycle it back in some year. I should take some pictures I did work hard on them. They might not be the best but we all have to start somewhere. lol. And it's so nice that my husband is great enough to make me happy and wear his. Although, his did look a whole lot better than mine. He got compliments.
