Reminders not working properly

Hi I am using the Android MFP app. When I set reminders for logging meals, sometimes they never pop up at all, and other times I get a reminder even though I already did log the meal.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime (cheap phone)
