Hello. My name is Ellen. It was suggested I try MyFitnessPal by a dietitian whom I saw this morning for a consultation. My problem is I frequently experience low blood sugars which make me shake, get a headache, and actually pass out if I don't get food in me right away. This leads to over-eating and weight gain. I am trying to lose 30 pounds and I was told that some of my meds are actually helping me to keep the weight on, if not gain more. So I have a lot against me. She suggested I try a 1400 calorie/45 grams carbs per meal with 15 grams carbs snacks, 3 a day. So I am giving it a go trying it again. If anyone has helpful suggestions, I sure would appreciate it. Oh, and by the way, I really like your guidelines rules. All in good taste and polite to everyone.

Hi - type 2 here, successfully lost 125 lbs and went from 11 a1c to under 5 and controlled with only diet, exercise and metformin (doctor would let me quit metformin too but it has benefits so I choose to stay on it.)

What meds are you currently taking? How often do you test your blood glucose?

Can I ask if you followed a special diet, i.e. carb counting or just calorie counted?
