I hate to say it, but 1200 is really the bare minimum you should consume. It isn't uncommon for people to see a huge loss in the first month to 6 weeks after switching to 1200 calories. It also isn't uncommon for a lot of people to see a complete standstill in weight loss after the initial month or so. Your body had finally caught up to what is going on. If you're working out, eating your calories and not losing...
It is time to switch things up. My first recommendation? Up your calories. If you are currently at 1200, I would switch to 1300 or 1400 and do it for 2-3 weeks. See what happens.
Make sure you are aiming to get your daily calories as close to zero as possible in your food diary. Having 200, 300 or more calories leftover each day defeats the way this website is designed to work. Aim for zero.
Make sure you are drinking enough water. Water is a must.0 -
They way I understand it is that your body can get use to you doing the something; there for you need to jump start your body again. Change the type of work outs you are doing or even the length of time your doing it. I believe the word they use for this is Platoe, just means what you are doing has stopped taking effect on you body. Look it up and then try to alter you work out and find different foods that can help with energy and fat burn. God Bless0

i have lost 25 pounds since april, but only joined this site 5 days ago..i started with 1500 a day (give or take) and plateaued twice since then. the first time was about 2 months into it, so i decided to switch things up. i realized i was eating when i wasnt even hungry just for the sake of 'sticking to the schedule'. so i started listening to my body more and only eating when i was hungry, not starving just hungry. i was a real slacker at counting calories at that point, but i can tell you that i was eating til satisfied and waiting again til i was hungry. now i am at my second plateau, and now trying to balance both former scenarios with this site (which also only allows me 1200). i have 13 lbs to go to be at the my type of body 'ideal weight'..good luck!0
