C25k - Only 3 times per week? Can I do more?

I feel like doing this at leaast 5 times a week. Should I just repeat the current week's walk/run routine? Does anyone fly through it quicker or do more days per week?

If you do it more then every other day you run the risk of injuring yourself and/or burning out. I strongly suggest you stick to 3 times per week and walk on the off days.

I've done C25K. You WILL improve just doing 3 days per week. Trust me.
  • It just seems super easy and very short......But I don't want to injure myself of course. I will just keep keep walking my dog the other days.

I started to feel confident, and tried it for a week. Got my first injury, from fatigue. I'd recommend finding other workouts for those days.
  • Thanks for the advice! I am doing the ChaLEAN Extreme workout. I also bike & walk. So it'll be okay. . . .

I do it every 2nd day, not 3x per week. Sometimes I take an extra day if I'm feeling tired. I work out at the gym on the "rest" days, and I also work out after doing the run for the day. So far, so good.
  • Thanks DRetel, sounds good to go every 2nd day! :)

I'm also doing CE but just the Burn, Push or Lean portions (not the intervals, abs, etc.) I work that in 4 days a week & then I've been doing C25K 5-7 days a week. I'm sure people will jump on me for that, but my body has allowed it (for the last 5 weeks anyway) and I feel absolutely amazing after my run. I've been doing week 3 for the last 2 weeks & at the end of 30 minutes I just power walk (4.4mph-ish) for another 15-30 minutes to round out my workout. This works for me and I feel like I've gotten a good workout, but everyone's different. One thing you'll need to make sure you're doing is STRETCHING!! The first couple weeks I wasn't, at all, and kept getting side stitches. I now stretch well before AND after and I've been able to maintain the 5-7 days a week without incident. I might've just jinxed myself though, LOL :)

If you feel ok then do it more often. When I got to week 3 it felt really easy so I'd do one run, rest for 10 minutes, and then do another run. It didn't do me any harm, and I honestly haven't jogged, ever, ever.
Only you knows how your body feels, once I got to doing 10 minute and up runs, I definitely didn't want to do 2 of those!! But perhaps if I was doing them everyday instead of every other day, it would have been easier.
Anyway, I can't see any reason why you shouldn't do it every day. BUT!! If you feel any pain at all, STOP!! I know that sounds obvious but some people just don't know when to. Lol!

I do every other day too and am now about to move up to week 8. Week 3 was a big jump for me -- I knew it would come at some point; there's no need to rush it.
  • Thank you guys for the great responses. I stretch super good after my run. But not before. So far haven't had a problem. I "warm up" first, though. But it doesn't hurt to stretch before hand also. I'll start!
