I just tried a new high protein, low carb "shake", I guess you call it that. Wasn't thrilled, but I know it's just in the short run to get myself going. I was wondering if anybody has a brand that they prefer?

I have never tried one that I felt did a good job of tasting food and curbing my hunger. They always leave me wishing I'd just eaten some food instead.0

That's kind of what I was thinking. I guess I was just hoping there was something good out there. Just adding it in for about a week until I get back on track. I've been eating terrible lately. too much stress.0

I like Boost (in chocolate). I buy the one that isn't low carb or sugar free since I need those calories and don't tolerate sweeteners well. I do mix in extra protein if I can so it's at least 30g.0

I make my own with protein powder, fats, carbs, and fiber. Examples from a few years back (I've tweaked since):

I really like slimfast chocolate but have read on this site that many seem to enjoy premier protein shakes. I have personally never tried that brand. Hope's this helps.1

Vega's chai flavor is my fav but I'm about to buy my second tub of their vanilla sport powder. Not bad as a "pudding" (just add a bit of water to make it thick)0

i use Ensure original strawberry nutritional shake (their chocolate is yuck to me, vanilla okay) and mix in some tasteless sugar free benifiber health for more fiber (5g) to make me feel fuller. its the best tasting to me but, only drawback sugar but, i don’t personally mind that part since i use it in mornings. it is 220 calories for 8oz.0

I use Soylent, original flavor powder form. You can drink it as a complete meal replacement, or use it to augment other foods (I put some in oatmeal to boost the nutrients).
READ INFO THOROUGHLY about it before buying, so you understand what it is/what it is not, and whether it's a suitable choice for you. For example - it's not a low calorie food, and original flavor tastes like raw pancake batter. Personally, though, I love it & find it to be a versatile tool in my healthy eating toolbox.0 -
I like Koia brand plant-based protein drinks. The kinds I like — the vanilla bean and cinnamon shakes — have 18 grams of protein per bottle for 190 calories. So if you are looking for extra-extra protein you'd probably want to drink one-and-a-half to two of them.0
