Breathing

Does anyone have any advice on how to try and breath properly while running? I am starting week 3 of my c25k training and I'm worried I won't finish the run parts because when I breath/run I sound like a horse in heat . I am also pushing a stroller that carries a carseat and a roughly 13lb baby.

I used to jog 6 miles a day a couple years ago and I would breathe in-in-out every step I took. It seemed to help. So you take a step and breathe in, take another step and breathe in, and then take another step and breathe out. It really helped. Sometimes I would also count 1-2-3. It takes your mind off of breathing I think.0

The step thing. yes. I did/do 'inhale' for 2 steps and 'exhale' for 2 steps. It does get easier!0

I just completed c25k this summer and it took me about 5 weeks to really get comfortable with my breating. The best advice I read on here was to belly breathe and also to try to breathe in and out on every 2nd or 3rd step (depending on your pace) to regulate yourself.0

I agree with Mamapengu, I have only recently started running (or jogging at the moment!) and do the two breaths in (Through the nose) and two breaths out (through the mouth) and each breath is on each step. The breathing in through the nose takes a bit of getting used to, especially if its cold, but I now can run for 40 minutes without stopping, which is a miracle for me! Plus, if I feel I'm getting too out of puff, I slow my jog down even more and wait till Im back in the flow before speeding up. That helps me go for longer.0

Yep, the step thing. I've also heard breathing in through the nose is more efficient, but for the life of me I can't do it.....
Also, a tip I wish I would have known starting out: If you cramp up on your right side near your lower rib cage, try and time it so that you begin your exhale when you land on your right foot.
Good luck, hardcore!! Running with bay-bays in tow is no easy feat. I bow down in the wake of your awesomeness!0
