24 hour fast

I was watching a documentary about a girl around my age and weight who was put on a 24-hour fast by her nutritionist to have a clean slate for dieting. Do you think this is a good idea?

Yeah, I'm going to start doing that.
You might want to do more research first.
And ease into it.
And let me know if you need any tips/advice.
It's really not for everyone.0 -

If you have problems with binge eating I wouldn't recommend it. It will just trigger the need to eat anything and everything.0

If you really want to do this, I would do some research into it. There some liquid fasts, juice fasts, some that include yogurt... Green tea fast. Try and find one that would be good for you0

I have fasted in the past. Just make sure that you do not have any chance of binging! If you do binge, it will set you back. Just be careful. You don't want to hurt yourself!0

It might just make you really hungry and then even if you do make it 24 hrs, you might overeat when the fast is over.0

No, I don't.
I just bought a book called Complete Food and Nutrition Guide, it's helping me with healthy choices and weeding out all the bad habits. Here's part about Fasting that I've read:
"The facts are: As with very-low-cal diets, fasting deprives the body o energy and nutrients needed for normal functions. Anyrapid weight loss is mostly water and MUSCLE LOSS. Fasting als may cause fatigue and dizziness, with less energy for physical activity. And it feeds the cycle of "yo-yo" dieting. As an aside, there's a misconception that fasting 'cleans out' the system, removing toxic wastes. To the contrary, body chemicals called ketones build up in the body when carbs aren't available for energy Ketosis puts a burden on the kidneys; ketones that accumulate can be harmful to health"
So, there's no benefit to fasting, in my opinion. All you need to do is stock up on veggies, fruits and lean meats and start from there. You don't want to risk a binge and upset yourself, even if you do make the 24hrs.0
