There's no point in focusing on the past. If you stay angry with yourself, it will be harder to have the right mindset to fix the problem. So forgive yourself for past mistakes, put them aside, and focus on planning how to get moving in the right direction!

Gaining 30 pounds in 2 years requires only to have eaten about 150 calories over maintenance calories daily, on average, during that time. That's pretty easy to do for anyone.

Echoing kimny, I'll repeat one of my li'l ol' lady platitudes: I think one of the smartest signs in the world is one that you see all over the place. It says "You are here." It doesn't matter where you think you should be, or wish you could be, where you are now is the only place you can start from.

Read the link she suggested, focus on the aspects you personally can control going forward, and you'll be likely to lose that 30 pounds in a few months, and without a lot of suffering along the way. No point in imposing guilt or anger on yourself, truly. Just take action in a positive direction.

    Best wishes!
