Hi,
Been trying to lose weight for a while now, just wondering, I try and walk 2.5 miles every night, is there a need to increase this after a while or is this adequate to maintain weight loss?

Up the distance over a few weeks or the pace of the walk. Incorporate some body weight exercises at home like press ups, sit ups, squats. Make up a mini circuit of 3 exercises. Do 10 of each rest and then repeat 3 times. Push yourself a little more further than you think you can go.1

Weight loss is caused by burning more calories than you consume. You can accomplish this while not exercising at all or while taking very long walks, it depends on how many calories you are consuming.
I look at exercise as something I do
- for fitness and health
- to increase the number of calories I can consume (My base calorie goal is 1560 calories a day, which is hard to stick to. Because I exercise regularly I can eat 1900 calories a day on average and still lose weight.)4 -
Plain and simple you can not out work a bad diet .. it’s all about calories in calories out ...3500 calories = 1 pound ..I stayed under between 1600-1800 calories a day work off around 250-400 calories a day and the weight fell off ...that’s just my experience1

I agree with the above its all about what you eat and regular exercise to help tone and for your joints. Good luck.0
