Is there a group for the mothers who work fulltime and have kids and are trying to find time for themselves as well.
I see there is a stay at home mom support group but what about the Mothers that work (outside the home) and still have to take care of the family stuff after they get done a 8-10 hour shift outside of the home?

AMEN to that, I own a studio, a bed and breakfast and have enough kids for a baseball team! I'd be in on that group :happy:0 -
That's me. My biggest issue is finding time to workout. I get up early with my little one, work a full day, take care of things at home, AND need to squeeze in working out!0

i would love that!0

I have 2 daughters ages 4 and 7 who both play sports, I work full time.
Here is my typical day-
Me and the girls up at 6 something in the morning getting ready doing hair brushing teeth let the dog out and back in- Rush out the door hopefully by 7am but lately we have been late- drop the girls off at the before school program I then rush off to work to be there on time- Work all day get off around 4:30-5pm head over to afterschool get the girls change my clothes for the gym in the bathroom at the afterschool program (by now its 5-5:30) head straight for the gym drop the girls off at the childcare facility at the gym (they love it in there) I work out for an hour to an hour and 15 minutes, get the girls head straight home let the dog out and back in, cook dinner, eat dinner, get the girls in the tub/shower, do some laundry, clean up from dinner, get the clothes ready for the next day, do the girls hair (hair comes down to both of their butts), Put them to bed, Then I jump in the shower and I go to bed just to do it all over again. (thats a night where we don't have a sports practice lol)
So what is your typical day like0 -
I have one son, who is 9 months old. He's teething, and still doesn't sleep through the night.
Here's my typical day:
Woken up around 4:30 by baby. Feed/change him, go back to sleep for an hour. Wake up for the day. Get myself ready; get baby ready; pack bag for daycare; pack lunch for myself; sometimes pack husband's lunch or make his breakfast. Leave home by 7:30; drop baby at daycare; get to work around 8:00. Work until 5:00. Pick up baby. Go home and make supper, do dishes and any other household chores that need to be done. Husband is home around 6:00. Supper is usually at 6:30 or 7:00. Play with baby (my favorite part of the day!) until he gets cranky, which is usually 8 or 8:30. Put him to sleep. Work out (if I feel like it), catch a few minutes of TV, or spend time with my husband. Bed time is about 10:00. Wake up with baby around 11 or 12, and put him back to sleep.
I'm sure things are going to get more hectic once he can be involved in activites. That's ok, I love my family and will do anything for them!0 -
I've got three children - two girls aged 10 and 8, and my baby boy aged 4.
A typical day looks like this:
4:00 AM - Wake Up
4:30-5 AM - Coffee and Breakfast
5:30-6:30 AM - Swim (5 times per week)
6:30-7 AM - Run (3 times per week)
7-8 AM - Driving to work.....listen to radio and drink water
8AM-3:30 PM - Work
3:30-4:30 PM - Drive home...listen to radio and drink more water...
4:30-5 PM - Dinner (instant crockpot dinner - whooo!)
5:15-6:30 PM - Girls swim practice (M-F)
7-8 PM - Homework, shower, bedtime stuff...
8:30-9 PM - Put kids to bed
9-9:30 PM - Relax (yeah, a whole 30 minutes, lol) while doing laundry, etc.
9:30-10 PM - Bed0 -
My typical day...
5:30 AM- Wake up, shower and get ready for work. I get my son's stuff ready as well ( my husband drops him off at the sitter)
7:00 AM- I pack my breakfast and lunch and make sure everyone else is up and running. My husband sleeps like a log.
7:30- I'm usually at work having breakfast.
4:30 I'm on my way home to pick up my kiddos from the sitter. I get home and try to throw in a load of laundry or clean up what I can... change into my gym clothes
5:30- i'm out the door dropping one kiddo at the sitter (he's still too small for the daycare at the gym) my 4 year old goes with me to the gym and my 11 year old stays with my mom.
6:30-7pm i'm at the gym. Monday's and Thursday's i have belly dancing at 7 and it usually ends around 8:15pm.
8:30pm i'm getting my daughter from the daycare and i'm heading home to the rest of the kids.
9:30 i'm usually cooking dinner(and extra for lunch the next day) washing bottles, laundry, cleaning and getting the kiddos ready for bed.
10:00pm My husband gets home(on the days he doesn't go to the gym) and eats dinner. I sit and chit chat with him while the girls are bathing getting ready for bed.
10:30 Baby Aiden is usally asleep by now(for the night!)
10:30-11:00pm... i'm usually cleaning up the kitchen while hubby is showering and making sure the kids are in bed.
12:00am I try to be showered and in bed by this time and maybe catch 30 mins of TV if i'm not too tired.
This is usually everyday for me. I rush rush rush... EVERYDAY.0 -
Very busy busy busy-
You all have yours down to the hour- My days feel like such a blur- I'm constantly rushing from 1 place to the next. We all deserve a vacation lol. I finally realized I will not get the sleep and rest that I need until My kids are older and out of my house lol0 -
Well, last time someone tried to start a link like this is was shut down because feelings were hurt on both the stay at home mom and working mom sides.
Personally, I think it is nice to have both links so that both kinds of mommies can find the support of like minded mommies. :flowerforyou:
I am inbetween both groups since I work from home, and I have been both kinds of mommies.
And mrsyac2, according to my mother you won't ever sleep normal again  Let's hope she isn't right! :noway:
Support is needed for both groups of moms and I think that working moms and stay at home moms are ALL STILL MOMS and should be kind enough to let each other seek and find the support they need , especially in matters of being healthier moms for our kids!
GO MOMS0 -

I'd be really happy to post if you start one.. I think you just go for it.. Those of us that can relate will just log on and chat with each other about some of the challenges.
This would be great for me, as I work full time, have 2 kids (12 and 9) and a horse.. Talk about getting pulled in different directions..
I'm making dinner now, but will be back in a little while to post more..
thanks, janiebeth0 -
