And looking good in them, too!
Thank you! 💕1 -
My running jacket fits again and I’m roaring to start c25k. Picking up some headphones this evening and will do my first run tomorrow!
I have also suggested a monthly step challenge at work since we’re all WFH and trying to remember to go outside for fresh air and spring sunshine.8 -
Worked out with Thor. And by that I mean a video of Chris Hemsworth working out on the Centr website.15

Raked leaves for an hour yesterday and only feel a tiny bit stiff this morning. That amount of activity would have made me crazy stiff before.16

Like the "Old Man's Club" shirt. From Ranger Up?1 -
@alteredsteve175 ... yes, I believe it is from them. I bought it a few months back.1

This may sound very silly, but last night my brother asked me if I wanted a toast with melted cheese in between the slices, because he made it for himself but realized it'd be too much for him. So I said not now, but leave it on the plate, I might eat in the morning.
Sure enough, the toast was waiting for me when I woke up and I had already started eating, when I realized that I probably didn't need a WHOLE sandwich. So I cut it in half, and left the other half on the plate. My half was satiating enough, and combined with other food I'll eat today, it was a good judgement call and I'm proud of my self-control.
Another NSV/SV combined victory is that I came on after a few months of hiatus, during which time I've more or less managed to keep my weight relatively stable. But MFP keeps me motivated to continue actively losing weight and shape my body the way I want to.14 -
I went for my first run! Day 1 of C25K. I woke up this morning to snow on the ground which was unexpected but didn’t let that deter me!
I even had to run past a fairly long queue of people and I was feeling rather self conscious (104 kg huffing and puffing) but it was only for a minute and I came out the other side OK.
I WILL be a runner again.26 -
To stick with the running theme: I improved a personal best yesterday.
8,5 km (5.28 miles), my longest run to date. Well, jog is a more appropriate word than run, but it's way more than I could do 6 months ago!
And I could have kept going too, but it was late and my BF was waiting for me for dinner. Can't wait to try for 10k when I have more time.14 -
When I'm standing up and cooking and organizing things, it's not my lower back and feet getting sore from standing, it's my traps and deep shoulder muscles. Cause I've lost enough weight to stand for longer now!13

My dawg and I have been getting pretty regular walks in, yesterday we went 2.5 miles on the beach playing with his ball and rope. He loves to get on the rope and have me spin in circles and play tug of war. Yesterdays walk was more like a full body W/O. Thought I'd be sore AF today but I'm rather fine.
I also bid a few sets of push ups, crunches, planks and body weight crunches afterwards.
Gotta find ways to stay active with all the gyms closed.
Good for you!...and your dog! Remember dont let your dog drink ocean water...it can kill him.1 -
Despite major set backs and issues Ranging from international travel, injury and pandemics I have been able to lock up 2 full years of at least 10K steps a day. We are still allowed to go for individual walks here so it remains doable.
Even if we move into Spanish style locks down I will keep it up walking in my small garden if people can run a half marathon on a small balcony I surely should be able to do that17 -
Keeping going for half an hour slow jog, barely above walking really, because I have zero energy this morning and felt like I was sleepwalking through most of it. It's amazing how motivating it is knowing that you have only one shot at exercising outside the house!9

Noticing I have a bit extra length in all of my pants with my legs slimming down now. It’s the little things! 🤣20

I hit 100 days of logging in and logging my food. This got me:
25 pounds down
down one bra size, band and cup (40F to 38DDD)
down two pants sizes (20 to a 16)
Down one shirt size (20 to an 18)
My rings fit again
I have twice the energy I did three months ago
I have less anxiety
I have less physical pain.
It's easy to stick with this when it works, and works in this spectacular fashion.
I have to give away my big comfy shaker-stitch cardigans. The sleeves are way too long for me to wear now.

I only just finished a few months ago. Don't get me wrong, I like my career as a corrections officer. I could live with it if I was working in this profession for the rest of my life.
But, that's the thing... I don't want to just pick something I can live with. I want to chase something I have a true passion for. My criminal justice degree was a panic decision. I felt backed into a corner so I just jumped into something. It was never my dream.
I guess expecting a baby has really put things into perspective for me. How can I tell my child that s/he can be anything they want and to chase their dreams if I'm too afraid to chase my own?
So, likely next spring or fall, I will be starting Pre-Veterinary. I've let the anxiety that I won't be able to handle performing surgeries hold me back, but I'm not letting that stop me anymore. I'm so thankful that I have a supportive partner that is pushing me, also.
Not sure what your anxiety stemmed from by my daughter had anxiety over doing anything where a life was in her hands. First she looked in to EMT work, then her love for animals made her look into animal care. But she again was concerned with the what ifs. I told her she had to look at it differently, what if she didn't. How many animals may suffer because she wasn't there for them? Plus there are other avenues for pet care. So she is finally looking at vet-tech schools and has been working with animals at a pet hotel service. And is truly enjoying it.
I guess I said all that to say this, never focus on the negative always focus on the positive.
I wish you all the best.
I did a preceptorship at a vet clinic, and assisted a spay surgery. I got super lightheaded and had to sit down and ever since then, I've been afraid I won't be able to do it. It's not so much the anxiety of having a life in my hands, more so I'm just not sure if I can handle the gory aspect of it.
It's weird though, I wasn't grossed out or anything. I was fascinated. I just found myself on the floor. I was reassured that for most people entering the field, the first couple surgeries they witness go like that, but it just added a lot of self doubt.
This almost happened to me when I was in school and job shadowing a local vet. Had nothing to do with what I was seeing, and everything to do with the fact that I was standing too still and controlling my breathing too well. Loss of proper blood circulation to the brain and you can pass out from it. I've seen it happen to cadets and soldiers as well when they stand too long. Something about don't lock your knees, heh.
Could that be what happened to you?1
