Air fryers?

I bought the T-fal one that is round and stirs the food. It's ok for fries but I am thinking of buying one that has a tray. The round one really isn't good for anything that's fragile because it just rips it up. I have seen others post positive reviews for the Phillips one which is sort of a square with a tray that goes in it. Again though I agree that if you are cooking for a large group it takes too long because only small batches work at least in the one I have.0

I really like the idea of getting one of these but know that my OH's first question would be .....how much does it cost to run in electricity......does anyone know please?0

I got one too.
Fantastic. Cooked frozen solid chicken breasts to perfection in less than 30 minutes last night. Took them out and put another batch in for lunches. My only complaint is that it doesn't quite hold enough sometimes. It is the 6.5 qt (it was a gift, I probably would have chosen the 8 qt) but it's diameter I'm having problems with, not height.
Air fryers are the same as convection ovens really, but not everyone has a convection oven.0 -

They make a tray for the Acti-fry.

I love mine for potatoes. I usually cube them, toss in a little oil and spicy Mrs. Dash and throw them in then deal with the rest of dinner. But I'm cooking for one (wife can't eat potatoes). I've used it to cook breakfast potatoes for 3 people and I'd guess the max would be 4 or so. I've used the tray for fish and it turned out decent.1 -

I'd say next to nothing. It's not like it runs 24/7, you use it for 10-30 mins while cooking and that's it.. it's the same as any other other small appliance, toaster, electric skillet, crock pot. I promise it will not affect your electric bill.0 -

Less than running the oven for the same amount of time.1 -

Pizza is good as well...
So is making your own tacos in a soft wrap and air frying them.
Or making homemade mini crunchy taquitos ...
I made noises like I was watching fireworks as I scrolled by all this. Oooh. Aaah!3 -

Noreenmarie1234 what make/model do you have? Your pics are amazing! Can't believe you use no oil!0

If there’s a heaven, please let it include an air fryer and halloumi.1

I bought one a few months ago. I use it mainly to fry frozen packaged goods. I'm on a journey to lose weight and the air fryer has made my cheat meals much, much, more enjoyable. I am able to stay underneath my maintenance calories but the food tastes as if they were fried in oil. Mine isn't too large, so i use it to prepare many of my sides. My favorite thing to make right now is air fried tilapia.
I honestly use it everyday. one downside is that it would take a while to cook for more than two people. Thankfully, it's just me and my sister. I do love it though. My favorite kitchen purchase as of lately!1 -
I friggin love my Cosori 5.8 quart air fryer. I make bacon, steaks, shrimp, hamburgers, and ribs in it, just meat and seafood. It's so easy to clean as well.0
