How much is too much. What should my daily intake be? I have been roughly 1200 calories almost every day. but my sodium intake is ridiculous and unfortunately will be that way until I go shopping this weekend. So please help guys!

The old standard was 2400. Now they have lowered the amount to around 1500 mg.0

There is lots of secret sodium in products too, like bread and tortillas(except corn), however they also offer tons of low sodium products now.0

The recommended daily amount is 2400mg, but that's on a 2000 calorie diet. I struggle with staying below that amount, just about everything has sodium in it.0

According to the American Heart Association they want you to eat no more than 1500mg but MFP "recommends" 2500mg. I personally stick with 2500mg - sodium is tough to stay under as it is, especially if you add in processed foods.

Thanks everyone I'll try to stay in between 1500-2400 and try and find a happy medium.0

I aim for no more than 1500 due to high blood pressure. It is doable, but you have to focus on fresher foods.0
