Today was my first day of my 30 day shred, I was wondering what sort of exercise I should do at the gym. I still want to try and get there at absolute least 2 days a week, and I will continue to go on walks at night as well. Thanks!

PS, anyone else done 30 day before? Does it get easier!?

  • 30 day shred is awesome!!! I recommend it to everybody now and I'm not even finished yet! I've been doing it and try to do at least 5 days of cardio at the gym. I usually do 30 minutes of eliptical or stationary bike and then an hour on the treadmill. Everybody kept saying that the second level was really hard and the third level was easy and fun but I found it the other way around. Keep at it! Every time you finish a level, you'll feel great about accomplishing it and you'll start to notice changes all over your body!

Hiya - I did my first say today and I'm absolutely shattered lol! That said I don't think it's enough exercise on it's own so my plan for the week is:

Monday am swimming and pm 30DS
Tuesday lunchtime walk and pm 30DS
Wednesday am body pump, lunchtime walk and pm Swimming and 30DS
    Thursday am 30DS lunchtime walk
Friday am 30DS, lunchtime walk and pm body pump
    Saturday 30DS
    Sunday 30DS

Maybe I'm being over ambitious but we'll see, wish me luck x

I did Curves circuit training 3 days a week, along with the 30 DS. Any strength training would probably be good.

I've done the 30 DS shred twice, and yes it does get easier!

It totally gets easier. Every first day of a level is hard because you're learning all new moves and usually using new muscles, but it gets better. You definitely feel a difference after three or four days of it. I did 30 minutes of cardio three or four times a week along with it...but for some people, it's enough on its own. Just see how you feel. AND GOOD LUCK! Level 3 was my favorite. :D
  • Its my 11th day and 1st day of level 2 .. it was intense! anyone else just starting level 2?

Thanks everyone! I'm going to do my evening walk tonight and hit up the gym for some circuit tomorrow (wonder if they will be open?). I don't want to go too hard to begin because I don't want to burn myself out and I'm new to this whole "actually trying to loose weight instead of complaining i'm overweight" thing! You people are the best!

I did the 30DS 4 times a week last winter for 2 months. I only did level 1 and I lost 10lbs along with dieting. It does get easier. I couldn't do it more than 2 days in a row at first because I was in to much pain.

Well....I stopped working out in April and gained all my weight back by June. I'm just starting up again and started doing the 30DS about 2 weeks ago. I was in a lot of pain after the first 2-3 times I did the it but now it is much easier. I really don't like level 2. I found my balance is not good enough to do a lot of the routine. I'll probably just stick to level 1 for awhile.

That is why Im only doing the 30DS right now. I had no idea how tough it would be or how out of shape I was...Im gonna keep this up till it gets easier and then try to add a little more to add some new challenge. I hope that this process will work best for me since i have a long way to go....still got about 60 lbs to go, and at only 2 down a week I know I'll get bored or burnt out so I wanna keep it fresh and new. Plus if I throw everything I can at it now, when I hit my plateau I won't know what to do and maybe get depressed.
