This one is more about exercise than about weight loss, but I was so surprised today that I wanted to share it.

I've never been a runner, but I completed C25K not long ago (let me hear an AMEN, BROTHER for C25K!) and have been running 2-4 miles a few times a week since then. Most of the time I run on the dirt roads out around my home in the country, and there are a few small hills along the way.

Today, I realized on my long (still slow) run that I've built up enough stamina to now view flat ground and downhill grades as my opportunities to catch my breath(!). Yes, although I'm running, I'm seeing those as times where I get to rest and prepare for the next hill. From a guy who, three months ago, couldn't run for 90 seconds without being completely out of breath, this is kind of a big deal. *chuckle

That is awesome! I know what you mean! I go to a boot camp and when we have to run around the building I sometimes feel like it's a break from the work that we're doing inside!

AMEN Brother! C25K ROCKS!! I am on week 9 now and signed up for my first 5k on Saturday. I remember struggling through week 1 and thinking I would never do this but I'm doing it. I'm still not the fastest one out there but who cares - I'm doing it!! It has been one more thing on my bucket list that I really wanted to do and I am proud of myself for doing it!!
