Really sore calf muscles after a run

I did some running the other day and I did a low impact hiit work out yesterday because I was so sore from my run. My calves are still sore and tight! I do a warm up and cool down but I'm just use to running. The other day I decided to try some running interval training and I'm regretting it at the moment. I can't walk properly:(

Any thing I can do get my calves back to normal? This sucks morning is the worst cause I have been laying down for hours. Getting up is brutal and my legs feel so tight

Running on grass may help. Good trainers and building up to running by walking if you’re not use to exercise.

Post run stretching helped me in that area.

I can totally relate, all the HIIT, dance, and aerobic YouTube videos I'm doing instead of a variety of cardio at the gym are trashing my poor calves, I'm finally taking a break from cardio and leg weights until they loosen up, I'm having major spasms and my leg gave out the other day. Things that have helped some are Tiger Balm, rubbing the calves against the muscle on the inner leg (Bob and Brad on YouTube are chiropractors who have a video on this), massage, foam rolling, stretching, and Epsom salt baths.

Work up to running slowly. Distance, intensity, days in a row, etc. Hydrate, massage, soak, walk, heat, ice. All of these things can reduce the discomfort you are feeling or may feel in the future. I had not run consistently in over a year. Put on my gear and did two miles. Every day 5 days in a row. Again the next week. I am on week 4. 3miles now. I used to run marathon distances. Never quit hiking or walking or sprinting just got out of habit with the regular jogs. I was sore but I knew I could handle the short distances. I massaged my lower legs, rubbed them with some essential oils, Waked a lot, kept running.

Hourly stretching. And keep your calves working, with short runs, jump rope, etc. Inactivity can actually make it worse.
