Okay. So I’ve been trying to make better decisions & I am not on a strict diet. I am using MFP to help me see what I’m doing wrong and eventually move into a strict diet.
Here is the problem 👇🏻
I have not met my macro goals, but I have 0 carbs left & have not eaten dinner. What should I do?

So.. there is no reason to be strict.
Just because you have no carbs left doesnt mean you cant go over those numbers, macros are important but not for weight loss
If you have enough calories for dinner aim for good protein and fats and include carbs, it's okay to go over3 -
Eat dinner....staying within your calorie goal is what matters most. Tomorrow just try to do a bit better.1

You don't need to be perfect every day in order to lose weight. If you're below your TDEE (calories you actual burn from all activity including heartbeat and breathing) on an average-out basis, you'll lose weight. Anything below those maintenance calories, you lose weight.
Macros are mostly for health, especially in the short run. They don't have much effect on weight loss. Absolutely, nutrition is important, because most of us want to be healthy, not just thin. And, in the long run, poor nutrition may make you fatigued (rest more, burn fewer calories) or leave you hungry (more inclined to overeat) so indirectly affect weight loss . . . but the mechanism is still calories.
Weight loss with calorie counting is a learning process. Especially early on, you'll have days where you run out of calories. Learn from it, and just go on.
Today, if your macros are off, but you still have calories left to cover dinner, eat a dinner within your calories. On upcoming days, gradually work on hitting your macro goals more consistently. (Malnutrition doesn't happen overnight, to healthy people. You have time.)
If, on the other hand, you're out of calories, eat a nutrient-dense, calorie-efficient dinner. Try to figure out why it happened, learn from that, and make a better plan for subsequent days. Calorie counting for weight loss is a skill you can get better at, with practice. It's not an instant pass/fail question. Learn, improve your process, make progress.
