Hello MFP. I was in Vegas from Thursday (Sept.1) and got back home early this morning. I didn't consume any alcohol drinks.. (I know right!! Lol) and it was a bit hard trying to eat on the healthy side knowing my close friends wanted all the good fatty stuff :\ Haha. Anywho, I tried my best to make smarter choices & ended up bringing my own Atkins advantage bars, some raw almonds.. Some whole grain flaxseed crackers.. And mainly ate at Subway or had salad.. If any of you can take a look at my diary since last Thursday - 9/1 until Today.. I'd love feedback. I've been going over my calories since Thursday but on healthier choices, at least it wasn't burgers, pasta, and alot of junk food right? But I'm still feeling a bit guilty since I've been going over. I'm on a 1,200-1,220 limit intake per day.. And since it's been a whole week since I've been go to the gym, of course it kind of makes me feel guilty! I'll definitely be hitting the treadmill & elliptical Tuesday since our gym is close tomorrow lol.. But please MFP!! Any feedback would be appreciated & helpful!

Thanks. :)

  • You only went over a couple days and you ate great, otherwise! Much better than I did when I was in Vegas for 5 days, recently, but I also used the hotel gym while I was there because I felt so guilty! Don't be so hard on yourself! It's a good thing our bodies have memory and will bounce back as soon as you want it too. I always find that when I go over my cals, I double my water intake and do 100-200 sit-ups, lunges, etc. Just so I feel somewhat better about getting some activity in. You ate great girl! And you have been doing very well before your trip to Vegas.
  • What are you so concerned about? I think you ate as healthily as you could manage. And I see that you no longer have weight to lose. Your BMR, I am estimating, is about 1600 with your activity level taken into account? (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator & http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/) So stop freaking out about going over 56 calories on Sunday, 343 on Saturday, and 173 on Thursday. It's not going to cause weight gain. And you can always exercise at home. Take a bike ride or a run.

Take the 3 days..average it out..you were within 150 of your goal WHILE ON VACATION...I'd say that's something to be proud of.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. A few days won't make a difference. And, it seems like you've reached your weight loss goal (according to your ticker) so you shouldn't be restricting your calories so much anymore. You should be increasing your calories until you reach your maintenance amount, which includes eating exercise calories.

Eating a few hundred calories over your maintenance is perfectly fine once a week in my opinion, and also for a few days after several weeks of training. It boost leptin levels and will actually help ramp up metabolism back up. If you still feel guilty and want to do a quick effective workout at home do what I do when I can't make it to the gym
    It's 3 simple exercises.
    Burpees
    Mountain climbers
    Jump Squats

Do 10 reps of each exercise without a break, that counts as 1 set. Take a quick 10-20 second break after you've done one set. Then repeat, perform 10 sets total. This takes about 15 mins to complete, but trust me, you're body will be on fire and you will burn tons of calories.
  • Thanks everyone for the feedback / opinions. I really appreciate it! I guess I shouldn't be as hard on myself, it just takes getting used too since I'm really used to eating at 1,200 cals per day or sometimes lower
