Reset/refeed days (cheat days)

I have been seeing a lot about reset days (more commonly known as cheat days). Mostly, that they are good to have in your weekly schedule to maintain your metabolism while losing weight. I’m kind of new to this and have 64 lbs I want to lose. Is this something I should do?

I have heard that, it’s important to still keep track of what you are eating but figuring out what to eat and how many calories to increase by is still confusing to me. Is a 600 calorie increase a good idea? Or should it be less?

Thank you for your help!

If you have 64 lbs you are looking to lose then I would not recommend a refeed for a while. Try not to have too big a calorie deficit and you’ll be ok without the refeed.

Personally, I think a better approach might be to allow 10% of your daily calories to be a snack. This way here your body doesn't start jonesing for sugar and you stay inside your calorie window.

Refeed days are for when you’re pretty lean to begin with. So maybe when you are like 10lbs within your goal. Not sure how big your calorie defect is? If it’s more than 500 calories then maybe reduce it one day a week to just like 100 or 200 calories?
