Is it best to weigh your food before cooking or after to get best results out if the calories?

Weighing before is more accurate for most foods because the water content is going to change during cooking.4

It all depends on what you are weighing. If its bacon, weighing before gives you the wrong answer unless you are drinking the rendered fat from the pan. If its rice or pasta, you have to weigh it before because a little difference in moisture at the end makes a a huge difference in the calorie count. So there is no one answer.1

Make sure to choose the right option for your diary. If you measure when cooked make sure your chosen diary entry is for cooked. Same for raw, choose an entry for raw. This is true for volume as well as weight.1
