Hi do you all weigh your jackets before or after cooking ? Thanks

I weigh after as well. But you have me wondering if there is a difference. I wouldn't think there would be since really, it doesn't gain or lose anything during cooking (like meat loses juices and pasta soaks up water).
FYI for those with me in the US - Jacket Potatoes are baked potatoes.0 -
I do it afterwards but it would be helpful to know the rough calories beforehand to decide what size potato I can eat! lol!0

I weigh things like this raw, and then use the nutritional numbers for for uncooked potatoes. When you cook things like potatoes they can lose water when baking them, or they can gain water when steaming/boiling and this will change the calories by weight.

Thanks for the replys I am never sure which way to go ,hubby does after I usually do before cooking ,for instance today did him one and it was 450g raw weight then when cooked it was 340g ,I had a smaller one with cheese ,red onion and salad cream was divine0
