Seven Percent Is Just the Beginning

Hello all!
I weigh somewhere around 400 lbs, and am going to talk with a nutritionist in June. With her help, I need to lose seven percent of my current weight so I can be approved for gastric bypass surgery (this is how it works in Finland). So before the nutritionist's appointment, I need to have a food log of "the before", and then afterwards, I need a food log of the weight loss diet. And if I do get approved, I'm going to need to log my intake so I know I'm getting enough protein.
I don't have high hopes, I have mental illnesses that could stop me from getting the surgery even if I lost seven percent of my weight. But that seven percent would be an awesome start for losing weight "the usual way" even if I don't get approved.
I have had a MFP account for years under various nicknames, but this time I like this nick (literally translates to "backwoods spruce") so much that I chose to return to this after being away for a while.
