Recent Liver Transplant - New LIFE!

Hello everyone!
I received a new liver on June 25, 2018. Since 2007 (actually longer, that was just when I was diagnosed), with a very rare type of cancer. I am working on losing about 30 lbs since I am overweight from all my crazy meds and my donor liver already had a little bit of a start of fatty liver. I am finally at the point where I can keep most food down and I can move around again. Whew!
My transplant team has me on a pretty tight leash with all my meds, and in addition to an army of doctors and specialists, I also work closely with a nutritionist who is helping me through all this.
Just wanted to buzz in and say hello - and see if there are others who are either transplant recipients or cancer survivors that are looking to live healthier lives.

Welcome to the MFP Community. Wishing you continued good health with your new liver. :flowerforyou:1

I'm not either of those things, but I do have some health issues, diabetes and lupus, which can make it tricky to stay active and lose weight. I also have some problems with fatty liver despite losing down to normal weight.
Wishing you all the best!
