Hi this will be my first attempt to lose weight. In the last 10 years I have gained 40 lbs. I think the reasons are:
1. Getting married after being single and living in a house with all females for almost 20 yrs. My daughters and I ate a lot lighter than I do now living with my Husband. Even though my girls are grown and gone and my Husband would be happy with smaller dinners, I make a big dinner alot of the time.
2. A change of jobs, from Driving a UPS truck to working in the customer center. So still lift alot of weight at work but work alot less hard than I did 10 yrs ago.
3. Menopause or Pre-Menopause.

I would so love any advise on how to increase my exercise and lower my portions. I know how to do those two things, I guess the problem is doing both every day. My Dr said I am healthy,no cholesterol problems, and I don't need any medications. My weight is my only health concern.

    Hi! :D

I only joined the other week so I'm probably not the expert but for portion size I'd suggest weighing out what you're eating and putting it on a smaller plate so it still looks like you're getting more. With exercise I'm just looking at my week ahead and seeing where I can schedule it in, like any other appointment. Else I try to fit a little bit in here and there when I have some free time, like if I get up early or if I'm hanging round waiting for something to cook in the oven I might get my hula hoop out.

Good luck and add me as a friend if you want. I'm finding the support on here really does help a lot.
