I love, love, looove bread. I used to always eat "whole wheat, whole grain" breads.. until I find out that most of the bread I had chose from the grocery stores weren't really "whole wheat/whole grain."
I switched to Ezekiel 4:9 low sodium bread. It's absolutely delicious and has a low glycemic index because it's made with whole sprouted grains
It's so good when it's toasted.. throw on a tablespoon or two on each slice of organic peanut butter or raw almond butter and you're gooood to go. Or even turkey, ham.. whatever.. as long as it's HEALTHY!
Just thought i'd share.. because I don't think I could ever cut out bread & I sure don't feel guilty eating it!

Mmm that's made me hungry. My motto now is if I want bread I have to make it myself from scratch. Makes it even more tasty and satisfying.0

Homemade bread is the best - you KNOW what's in it! I have an old-fashioned stone grinder that I can grind the grains and use them in the recipe while they're still warm from being ground. Now I'm of a mind to bake up some whole-grain bread!0 -
I love Ezekiel bread... toasted. It's really good with a drizzle of olive oil, tomato, garlic and fresh mozzarella0

The problem with making bread from scratch, for me, is that i would eat the whole loaf!! my husband once wanted to buy me a breadmaker for christmas and i begged him not to unless he also bought a forktruck to take me out!!0

Alot of the markets carry it in the frozen section. If you are lucky enough to have a higher end market you may find it fresh. They also make a good cinnamon raisin bread. There are several varieties. I love the low sodium brread as well. I also find good bread at Whole Foods, they make an awesome museli flax bread that has walnuts and raisins in it. Tons of protein and fiber and a great source of complex carb. Stay away from the usual bread in a plastic bag from the typical bread shelf, there are only a couple there worth their while. If you must, choose a 100% whole wheat (I opt for Arnolds double fiber 100% whole wheat in a pinch). Most other breads are loaded with sugar and salt......read the labels and do some comparisons.0
