I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS but know I have had it since my teens. I am 33 now. My biggest trouble has been my weight.
I use to be plant based and at a normal weight of 155 lbs. Due to social pressure, I started eating dairy and meat again. After 2 years my weight has gone up to 215 lbs. I tried everything to drop weight while trying to include dairy and meat in my diet including having a personal trainer that I met with 5 days a week for an hour and dropping my calories to 800 a day. The most I lost was 5lbs in two months. My doctors was trying to convince me that this was normal weight loss and should keep at it. My trainer was at a loss of why I wasn’t dropping weight and suggested I eat more protein. I tried Keto and it was making me feel worse and my weight was going up. I have decided to go back to trying to be plant based in hopes things will right themselves again. I have been on the new eating plan for about a week and my first weigh-in is tomorrow.
I would love a buddy to stay on track! Let me know what your plan is.1 -
I’ve got PCOS as well. I started healthier eating April 12 2020. So far I’m down exactly 17 pounds. We can do it !3

Not only does my PCOS attribute to certain cosmetic issues on my body that cause insecurities to run rampent but I also believe it's haulted any weight loss I could be reaching. - I've been big my entire life but after a bad spell of depression and binge eating in my teenage years, I'm up to almost 400lbs and have been stuck here for years.
It's definitely not fun. A doctor did put me on hormone pills in my early twenties to try and kickstart some weight loss but I ended up gaining more weight and felt like my mental health was worsening so I stopped taking oestrogen after two years. I kind of gave up after that and started eating whatever I wanted to, but now that I'm 27 I feel like I need to start eating well again. Even if it doesn't end up helping me lose weight, I need to be healthier for my future.
(fingers crossed i do lose weight though)3 -

I have PCOS too. And insulin resistance. Started my senior year of HS, gained 100lbs eating the same as when I was stick thin. Doctors couldn't figure anything out. So I've held it. But now, with all this information on it, I'm ready to get my body and health back. Feel free to add me!1

Hi everyone! I'm so glad there are so many people on here who share the same issues that I do! I've been trying to lose weight for a few years now. I'm gluten intolerant so no starchy/bread carbs. I've been seeing a weight loss specialist who put me on vyvanse for binge eating, which works great to keep me from shoving food in my mouth, but not for weight loss unfortunately. My boyfriend is trying to be very encouraging and get me going, start losing weight so I can feel better about myself and how I look, but it's hard to explain staying positive when I feel like nothing will ever work.1

Hi. I don't have PCOS but I have polycystic ovaries and all the symptoms of the syndrome. I am the biggest I've ever been and really starting to worry about my health. I'm 33 but have a family history of diabetes and arthritis. I also have 2 little girls so need to be a better role model for them. I would love some support.1

I have PCOS officially diagnosed in 2014 but sure I had a lot of my teen years, the same year doctors told me I have a 3% chance of having a baby today I am 3 months post partum with baby #3 and I KNOW healthy eating is the only way to keep my PCOS symptoms in check. I have been dragging my weight around for years and I am ready to get rid of it!! Feel free to add me! We can encourage each other1

I have PCOS as well, diagnosed about over ten years ago. For years I used it as an excuse not to address my weight, figuring I was doomed to fail, and I am not fond of failing. I was under 200lb and figured that was good enough so I just ignored the scale and my slowly creeping up clothing size. In Sept I saw 210lb on the scale and that was a wake up call for me. Since then I've seriously logged my calorie intake (including the garage I periodically want), and gotten more and more exercise, and I'm down to 161lb and change.
You can do it, PCOS be damned!0
