Hi! I'm 27/F, and I have decided to end my unhealthy relationship with food starting today.

It all started when I was diagnosed with an idiopathic disease that had bruises appear on my legs and making them painful 4 years ago. I was on prednisone for a while, and couldn't do any normal physical activity like walking or standing for extended periods of time without being in pain. I leaned on yummy, sugary food to make myself feel better.

Over the years I have grown to associate my emotions with food - eat when I'm happy, eat when I'm sad, eat when I've had a long day because I kept telling myself I "deserved it".

The next year, I'm aiming to elevate my career further, but it entails a lot of sitting down and studying, and today is my 3rd day of just sitting down at my desk at home doing the work. I passed by the mirror and I didn't like what I saw. I have never been this big. It feels like so long ago when I was at my fittest - going to the gym almost daily and eating healthy.

It's time I changed that. I am making it my personal goal for the next year to get to a healthier place - physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

Because I live alone, and with this pandemic, I'm really unable to go see family and friends. I need a support system to help me through this journey. I hope to meet people who also need mutual support

Hi welcome. I'd suggest joining some groups - if you feel brave jump into some challenges on here. You've totally got this just take one day at a time and in 6 months you'll be so happy you started today.

Good for you! I'm with you. I'm sick of using food as therapy. HEALTHY, fueling foods should be therapeutic to our bodies and we shouldn't be afraid of food, and balance in our diet. But I was the same, bingeing when I was sad, happy, etc. I believe in you.
