So I have been experimenting with making homemade bread. I am just wondering how do you calculate the calories in that? Not sure if the calorie counter in recipes would calculate that properly?? Any ideas?? It is whole wheat but even the loaves at the store vary quite a bit between brands!! Thanks!!

I make homemade bread and what I have to do is figure the calories in the whole loaf, weigh the loaf, figure out how many calories per ounce and then just weigh it as I eat it to figure it out. My homemade bread always has more calories in it that store bought because it is all food and isn't fluffed with air the way many commercial breads are. But, so worth the calories.
  • go to your toos and do a recipee calculation then add it to your food. thats the best way.

Thanks! I just wasn't sure if the recipe maker would calculate it properly by just listing flour, yeast etc... I did do that and if I get 10 slices each slice will be 166 calories. Does that sound close??
