Calorie Intake and Metabolism Boosting Foods

When taking metabolism boosting foods into account, can you take off the number of calorie intake? If so, what is the formula used in that? I am thinking one would have to know how much each food specifically (numerically, mathematically) sped up the rate of metabolism. This seems difficult to figure out, but would make a great difference in my calorie intake, because I include many metabolism boosting foods in my diet. I would even be happy knowing a general amount to take off to be able to get close to my "real" calorie intake. Could someone help me? Thanks.

I have read a fair bit over the years about diet and ways of increasing your metabolism. I have never come across any information regarding if you eat certain "metabolic boosting" foods exactl how much more energy you use for this that can be included in your basal metabolic rate. All the BMR calculators don't ask for this info neither. So if you are on a diet I would just stick to what mfp have recommended and it will work. Any extra cals lost thro a higher BMR will just speed up your success!

I agree. Thank you! I will just be happy with any help I may get with extra calories lost from metabolism boosting foods. I suppose I'll look at it as a pleasant surprise if it results in weight loss. it's much better than worrying about an extra factor in my weight loss. That way, I can concentrate on exercise and stick to the MFP nutrition and exercise figures. I appreciate it, catodd!

Yeah I think trying to factor something like that would drive me crazy and I would end up turning to drink! And ya know what that does for your metabolism. But can be fun!!
