So sick of eggs.

I've been eating eggs every morning for the past couple of weeks and it's really starting to get old and I feel like I am gagging them down. I eat them because the only meat I eat is chicken so it's a good source of protein for me. I am trying to keep my carbs to under 100 grams a day, does anyone have any suggestions for a high protein low carb breakfast that does not involve meat. Thanks!

high protein - GREEK YOGURT! Some servings offer 44% of your daily protein. It is the best!! Also add nuts to a small amount of cereal, or try peanut butter on a banana.

    Greek yogurt with berries.
    Scrambled tofu
PB on whole wheat toast (you can find some good low carb bread if you really look)
Protein shake...just watch out for artifical flavors, sugars, and colors. I use Vega and it's wonderful. I blend two scoops with 1/2 cup greek yogurt and 1/2 cup of milk and a small banana...so tasty and thick.

Chobani plain non fat yogurt has 23g of protein a serving of 8 oz.
Low fat 1 or 2% cottage cheese is pretty high too for 1/2C about 11g of protein

I alternate between High Protein Shakes and the eggs. When I'm sick of eggs, I make a shake. There are also High Protein breakfast bars (watch out for sugar though) and of course cheese as others have suggested.

    Good Luck.

I had turkey bacon and eggs, got sick of eggs. Now I eat turkey bacon and turkey sausage links. Eggs and turkey bacon were 245 calories, turkey bacon and sausage 3 each is 205 calories.

    Hope this helps

Try a morning star meatless sausage, they also make ham etc. which are not very high in carbs. Do you do the 17 day diet is that why your eating high protein low carb? You can always try to eat seitan which is like a tofu alternative with a meatier texture. There are recipes to make it from scratch too.

Hmm...I don't know. I would eat a dozen eggs a day if I could. :) Do you prepare them in different ways, and eat them with different things?

I love smoothies with 1 cup of mixed frozen berries and a scoop of whey protein powder (not sure if your allowing fruit but hope you are for their beneficial antioxidants, fiber and nutrients) with a little pure cranberry juice and with the Plan I'm on I add some flax oil but if that doesn't work for you just do everything else. Keeps me full for a few hours and gives me the energy I need to run around!

If you are not adverse to whey protein powder these protein pancakes are a good idea...there are many recipes on the forums - just press the search button above....

Personally I make oatmeal - and add two egg whites - so you don't taste the egg - and because you dont have the yolks you dont get the calories either

cottage cheese. cream cheese. I like pickled eggs myself. I love them pickled with hot veggies. Or just pickles. Or sweet beets (shouldn't change the carbs much, but will change the flavor of the eggs).

How about 1 cup of whole grain cereal with 1/2cup milk? The Brown Cow Greek yogurt is really good. You can make some prepare ahead food. Mash 1 banana and add 2/3 cup oatmeal, 1/3 cup dried milk. Divide equally between 2 muffin cups and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. It makes a nice little breakfast muffin and you have one for another day. You can add a few walnuts or raisins, if you want a little extra texture. It will be a bit dense and not raise really high since you don't add salt or baking powder.

How do you eat your eggs? 'Cause there are so many different ways to fix them, I would find it really hard to get bored... I also have a low-carb, high-protein lifestyle, on doctor's orders, so I've had to get creative. I eat eggs a LOT and love them. Not to go all Forrest Gump on you, but there are hard-boiled eggs, soft-boiled eggs, poached eggs, fried eggs, eggs over easy, scrambled eggs, omelets, cheesy eggs, pickled eggs, deviled eggs, baked egg quiche...

Low-carb deviled eggs: hard-boil a couple of eggs, slice in half, remove the yolks, mash them with a little sour cream & mustard & a dash of paprika & black pepper. Then put the yolk mush back in the whites & enjoy.

Ideas for scrambled eggs or omelets: try different flavors of cheeses. You said you avoid meat, but does Spam or turkey lunchmeat count? You could try those. Add a scoop of salsa for spicy eggs. Add low-carb veggies like chopped spinach, green bell peppers, asparagus, broccoli or mushrooms. Experiment with spices: a little curry & red pepper for Indian eggs, or rosemary & dill, or sprinkle in some of that ready-made Italian spices mix or barbecue flavoring mix.

Here's my recipe for low-carb spinach quiche. I make it in cupcake tins, then refrigerate the extras and I can just throw a couple in the microwave in the mornings if I want.
    Mini-quiche: Makes 6.
    6 large eggs
    Black pepper (to taste; optional)
A few shakes of hot sauce (optional)
Salsa (try to find one with no sugar or corn syrup)
Frozen spinach or other leafy greens (I usually use a 10-oz box or half of a 16-oz bag).
Parmesan cheese (or shredded cheese of your choice)

Preheat oven to 350. Grease muffin pan. Blend the eggs, pepper and hot sauce. Drop about a tablespoon of frozen leafy greens and a half tablespoon of salsa into each cup. Fill with the egg mixture then top with a sprinkle of Parmesan.
Bake at 350 about 35-40 minutes. Let them cool for about 15 minutes and they pop right out.

    Good luck to you!

Thank you soooo much everyone you've given me some great idea's!!
  • Oatmeal and blueberries
  • egg whites and ground chicken with veggies is delish.
soyriso is good with some veggies.
chicken in a low carb wrap or in lettuce.
greek yogurt with a bit of sugar free jello powder mixed in with fruits.

do you eat turkey? i only eat chicken turkey and seafood and ~fake meat.

fake sausage or turkey sausage with tofu and veggies with sour cream and cheese is really good.

Exactly what I was thinking!! Try adding some ham, cheese and hot sauce to your eggs and if you can spare the cals throw it in a tortilla. Exertions I get sick of one egg variation I try another!
