Should I follow this diet?

I have decided that I cannot handle anything but a strict diet, I just love food too much. SO, here is my attempt to create a somewhat healthy diet. Let me know if you think this works, or if it should be tweaked. Or what you have eaten strictly, to help you lose some pounds!
Breakfast- oatmeal and a banana, glass of OJ
Lunch- Pita with turkey and fat free cheese, honey mustard dressing with lettuce and onions too.
Dinner- brown rice with chicken and broc or other veg
tons of water throughout the day*

will you get bored though? I jazz things up by sprinkling chilli flakes or cayenne on them (helps bump up the metabolism too!) and have fat free yogurt on cereal in the mornings with some cinnamon. Although I almost put cayenne on instead of cinnamon this morning. that would have been a disaster!!0

I guess you can do it but you will be deficent of nutrients. Honestly if there is anything you should not cut out is Calcium and fiber.0

What if you have 2 different daily menus, and alternate them , that way you won't get sick of the same thing every day.0

Doesn't really look like you'll be eating enough and as a previous poster mentioned, you may get bored with the same thing every day. You can nosh on fruits, veggies, nuts, low-fat yogurt for snacks to add variety... try alternating your breakfasts from oatmeal to eggs with fruit/toast to perhaps a protein shake, and then just center your bigger meals (lunch and dinner) around lean proteins; chicken, fish, eggs, meat, tofu, beans, along with a big salad or two servings of leafy/green veggies, and a healthly complex carb such as sweet potatoes, brown rice, couscous, quinoa.
I've got loads of healthy meal plans kicking around, if you want a few more suggestions or more structure, just send me a message0 -
do you like egg white and veggie omelets? you can put thin turkey bacon strips - very low calorie0

Vary your diet if you want consistent results.0

I'd worry about boredom and nutrition.
I need a strict diet too, but if I restrict too much as soon as I go off path a tiny bit even if it's just a coffee I pack it all in and end up having 3000 calorie chocolate binges.
Hopefully you're not the same but keeping to the same foods might make cravings stronger
Although the food you have there is healthy it's hard to keep a balanced diet without any variation.
There also isn't any red meat so your iron and protein levels may struggle.
How about keeping to a strict plan such as
breakfast - oatmeal + fruit (change up the fruit!) + drink (tea is awesome for variation, so many different flavours, no sgar and only 2 or 3 calories a drink )
lunch - Pita with meat and salad , change it up with turkey, tuna, or even egg whites etc and change up the dressings
dinner - rice with meat. abd mixed vegetables

I eat almost like what you have laid out, but I eat a salad with my dinner ( to get my daily intake of veggies ) and I eat / drink my fruits in a smoothie in the morning ( to get my daily fruits. ) I have 1 and 1 / 2 cups of fruits a day and what I do is I blend usually 3 different fruits 1/2 cup each along with a fiber one 50 calorie yogurt and 1 cup of fat free milk in the blender. Soo, so good! My salads, I chop up my veggies early in the week and put them in the fridge. ( green peppers, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, carrots) and the salad, I just buy the bag at wal~mart....it has the nutritional value on the bag..... and it is such a small ding in the daily calories for such a filling salad. I eat 1 and 1/2 cups of the salad and then I add 1/2 cup EACH of the other things. It is almost criminal how much is there for so little!!! Plus, VERY, VERY GOOD FOR YOU. THROW SOME FAT FREE DRESSING ON THERE AND YOU ARE IN HEAVEN!! My main goal is to get the daily fruits and veggies in and I watch other things like my carbs.... which my fruit is a big chunk of that the way I eat. I eat chicken and brown rice, along with brussels sprouts a lot for dinner. Brussels sprouts are a fat burner and I have 6 of them a lot with my dinners. Oatmeal is a fat burner, as well and tomatoes.....actually.... google fat burning foods and it will give you a list. I just recently started eating peanut butter and Jelly preserves for lunch..... so good.... because I found reduced fat preserves and peanut butter. I would usually eat turkey breast for lunch or crab meat. I try to eat fish a few times a week..... really good with the omega 3. I am on a 1200 calorie diet, by the way and most days, I get this message saying that I am eating "too few calories" but like I said, I eat the oatmeal for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, a lean meat with veggies along with a salad for dinner and my smoothie in the morning. I always max out on my protein, fiber, and I watch my sodium closely. I stay under 1200 calories and I don't go over on my fat or carbs. If I do, I hit the treadmill and earn the carbs and fat back. I usually workout an hour a day and have carbs and fat to spare, but occasionally, I find myself needing to hit that treadmill an extra 15 minutes from time to time.0

I agree with Claire, you need more variety for a balanced diet and to stop you getting bored!!!!
Just make sure you add everything onto MFP so you will know if your eating too much so don't worry about being too strict!!
A few small snacks is good too, to stop you getting hungry!0 -
If you want to lose weight long term, you need an eating and exercise plan that you can see yourself living with long term. Is this the way that you want to eat for the rest of your life?
Planning is good. But plan for a good range of food. Vary your food each day. Teach yourself to be creative with your cooking.0 -

the 'trick' to losing weight is to follow a healthy lifestyle... there are millions of things you can eat, you dont have to be strict, but you do need to know how many calories your body actually needs, and not eat over that. Treats, especially things like chocolate that have no nutritional value should be limited, and you should try and get your 5 a day.0 -

Hahahaha I have to laugh cause I sometimes put cinammon on my toast and I used the cayenne too a while back. Thank goodness I noticed before I ate it.0
