So I have rice it says 182 calories for 50g is this cooked or uncooked?

    You can also look in the usda database for uncooked rice. Most products differ very little in calorie content: raw rice, pasta, potatoes, beans, fruits and veg. Meats and fish depend a lot on the type of cut and fat content but most other raw products vary very little.

    And as a game you can try to guess calories of raw products. Calories always come down to roughly 4 calories per gram in protein and carbs, and 9 in fats. Plus water. A hard, dry product that mostly consists of carbs and protein will be fairly close to 400 calories per 100 grams as there’s not so much wayer inside. A water melon, which is only carbs but contains masses of water is only a few calories per hundred grams (30ish?)
