Getting fit for fifty!

Here we go again!
I'm back on MFP after piling the weight back on in my 40's, and I have 18 months to lose it again for 50. I'm 6 foot tall and I started at 259 pounds. My current aim is to get under 200, so about 60 to lose. So far I am down 11 pounds, so I can do this!
I'm from the UK (Scotland these days) and currently working from home which is actually helping the weight loss (I live in a small village so I have to go miles to a local store and the snack ailse!). I'm married with 3 grown up step-kids and one adorable grand-daughter.
It would be great to find a like-minded pal or two on here, to share the highs and lows of the weight-loss 'journey'.........

Fit for fifty. I like the tagline (turning 50 in summer 2021)
I could write the exact same message (except I started 2 days ago at 216 pounds).
I wish you good luck on your journey.3 -

I like the goal of “fit for 50”. Sounds like a great one to work towards. I’m aiming for “less fat for 47” (I just made that up now but actually since my birthday is in December it’s not a terrible goal).
Congratulations on your loss so far. I’m also looking for a like minded person or two. In my case I’m envisaging something like an MFP pen pal. Some to chat with who “gets” some stuff about the struggle to lose weight. If you’re interested let me know. I find the forums helpful but last time I successfully used MFP I found it really helpful to have a few more focused friends I was checking in with.

You’re in for an awesome journey. Take it one day at time. Once you get your routine, you’ll be on a roll.1
